Description:
An American traditional song. I'm not sure of the exact melody line but based it around the guitar part. The lyrics are based on sources from the web except for the last vesre which I made up to try and give it an ending.

Lyrics:
Ain't got no use for your red apple juice
Ain't got no honey baby now
Ain't got no honey baby now

Who'll rock the cradle and who'll sing you songs
Who'll rock the cradle when I'm gone
Who'll rock that cradle when I'm gone

Ain't got no use for your red rocking chair
Ain't got no honey no not there
Ain't got no honey baby there

Done all I can do to try to live with you
Send you back to your mama next pay day
Send you back to your mama next pay day

Gave her all that I made while she lay in the shade
What more can a poor boy do?
What more can a poor boy do?

Take my old guitar and I’ll wonder afar
That’s what this poor boy will do
Yea that’s what I’m a going to do

Hello &mdash 03/27/08 - 11:40:14 AM
Thanks for listening Feter. I had a lot of fun making this which I think is the main thing (though it is always nice if someone says they like it as well). I feel I'm improving at doing the recording, mixing and using the effects so I'm glad you think I'm getting better. Any encouragement is always welcome!
Take it easy.

From the very first note, I loved this. The blend of Americana ands Celtic is perfect here. Sure wish I could pick like you. Awesome guitar work, vocals, and production. Very pleasing all around.

Hi Roxylee &mdash 03/27/08 - 11:48:20 AM
Thanks for listening. I hadn't intended it to be a Celtic-Americana mix but now you mention it the introduction does sound more like it's leading to Celtic aire rather than some old southern pickin' number. Hey, I'd gladly swap all my guitar playing skills (such as they are) for a tenth of your singing voice (maybe an octave or two lower though!).
All the best to you.

I like the way that the intro sort of misdirects you ..then bam off it goes.....and some great harmonics coming through..good one ..it's in me trophy cabinet..

Cool tune &mdash 04/05/08 - 04:22:48 PM
I like it. I think the guitar production in the beginning is really clever. I like how the decay of the reverb blends with your finger picking. I anticipated a smokey blues voice to come in and was surprised to hear what you did. After about 15 sec. it worked for me. This is a nice piece of work, Congrats!

wow - have you ever got the touch on that guitar! I love the ambiance of this song and your gorgeous vocals. Like the minor chording and bass drone sound. This is a total download - can't wait to hear more of you!

this is enchanting - &mdash 04/14/08 - 08:11:03 PM
this could have come off Led Zeppelin III -

It's sort of thing you listen to anytime. Everything fits together or maybe blends together is a more accurate way of putting it.

This is a lovely, interesting song, and once again, terrific performance! Your guitar sounds as wonderful as ever, and the playing is great. You really make that guitar ring and sing! Love the vocal too. The effects on the vocal work well, I think, giving a nice ambience to your singing, something that suits the song well, I think. Nicely done, my friend. Peace.
