MacJams Woodstock
Bob Dylan and Joan Baez ( aka Roxylee and Feter) meet up backstage on the first day of the Woodstock ’69 Music Fest. Bob was planning on singing, but after this little conversation, he ran out and hid in the crowd until Joan gave up-this time. Special guest appearance by Arlo Guthrie.

Lyrics:
Bobby, can I sing with you?Bobby, like we used to do?
Before I made you famous
No one looked at you
C'mon Bobby, my Baby Blue
Joan, with you I've lost the thrill
I'm great now-you’re last on the bill
Where’s your old man David
that nerd who can’t kill?
Go out by yourself -sing "Joe Hill."
Chorus:
We were king and queen of folksong
Well, we knew it could not last
The world wants rock n roll
Forget about the past
The times are changing, babe
They’re changing fast
Bobby, let's have one duet
I know we can charm them yet
You go out first
I'll join you in the set
Our ballads will be so well met
Joan, will you get off my back?
You still wearing that gunny sack
You're stuck in the folk scene
And vision you lack
I'm layin down electric track
Chorus

Feter
my dearest joanie I m so glad we had that time
workin on this song ..I would never ever believe
I can record again with what my life looks like ..
but its your sweetiness and blessing friendship
thank you for all ... God Bless !
Roxylee
When I heard you do your Dylan voice, I knew we had to do this song. I crack up every time I hear your remarks to Joanie, and I absolutely love your vocals on this! Thank you so much for your great collab work, humor, and affirmations all throughout the process. :-)
Just blown away.... this is dear... what a tribute!
Just blown away.
Our King and Queen of Woodstock MJ.
(Feter... your Dylan voice is precious)
... the other Dylan imposter,
Dadai
you pulled off a great one here... you really did. You captured the times, an early sixties moment when Dylan hit the scene with Joan by his side as his credential to the crowd, that was wondering... who is this kid? Thanks for the memory... and,
utterly blown away...
Roxylee
I'm really happy that you liked this a lot. It was fun to make a parody of these tow beloved musicians for the MJ Woodstock Festival. After reading _Positively 4th Street,_, all this was in my head, and it was fun to be able to express the probable emotions that went on behind the scenes in their lives.
Roxylee
This was a hoot, and Feter did such a great Dylan droll voice! I crack up, just thinking of it! lol
drakonis
and awesome all around... super lyrics (definitely got that Roxylee smirky tone) and what a great Baez sounding song, so wonderfully sung by Roxylee... and Feter, boy are you are channeling the Dylan man... well done! I suddenly saw you standing there with big fuzzy hair.
Awesome work you two... love the whole concept and execution. Great work on the crowd sounds and ambience too!
Roxylee, good to hear your mic behaved for this, now to get your Saffire fixed and get you completely up and running again!
ttfn,
Drakonis
Roxylee
Can't be too serious here at Woodstock, with all those Daisies in hippie garb. ;-) Thank you so much for all your mixing tips on my music- I've learned a lot. This was a riot- Feter's phrasing and annoyed tone were perfect. :- and it was fun to pretend to be Joanie. I admire her and I'm sure she wouldn't mind us gently teasing her here.
dajama
What a great pair of performances! Great lyrics, and beautifully performed. Wonderful stuff. Two great talents in musical conversation (Roxylee and Feter, that is...) Perfect. Peace.
Roxylee
It's always gratifying to hear a skilled mixing artist thinks I mixed well, and that it sounded OK with the USB mic. Thank you for stopping by for our Jangling Conversation. :-)
Guys you well rock on this one. Super cool thats for sure!!!
I am a huge Fan of Bob Dylan/ Joan Baez.
I have all or most of there songs on my Ipod too.
Feter you well sang like Bob.. Roxylee you too were well fantastic
are you two sure - Your not twins? You sing so well together.
I get a real buzz when I hear you two sing together. I really do.
' A Wonderful Collab '
I well smiled, listening to you two I felt all tingly all over
just like I felt when i created my last record or part of it at least lol
Cheers
I have all your records well, nearly all on my ipod -yours Feter and Roxylee
This one will take pride of place in my playlist for certain now too.
'Hey I do not jest I mean every word I have written here' I love you guys :-) Peace Dee xxxxxx
Roxylee
Your comments really make me smile. Just to imagine you having my songs on your iPod is a rush. Yeah, I think Feter and I are folkie twins who somehow got separated at birth-oh wait- we weren't born in the same decade... Oh, well, musical twins, then. I really enjoy singing and working with him, as he's so talented! Also encouraging and humorous, in spite of his living conditions. He is a real testimony of an overcomer. He did a sweet job of acting like Dylan and I crack up every time I hear it. Thank you for such a superlative comment- we both appreciate your coming over for a listen.:-)
thetiler
touch here. Plus the crowd scene is neat. Great pic too!
Nice fade out.
Roxy reminded me of Joan Baez!
Thanks for sharing and all the warmth you all have brought to MJ!
Priceless!
Roxylee
I'm happy that I reminded you of Joan- I was trying to copy her voice and style.
By the end of winter, I need a parody. <G> Than you for your input; it is much appreciated.:-)
SJB
Great idea for a Woodstock track - cheered up my morning a treat.
Blessings to you both.
Roxylee
So good to hear that this cheered up your morning. :-) It was a lot of fun to create, and thank you for letting us know you enjoyed it. :-)

What else can I say. Feter this Woodstock-MJ has taken on a life if it's own now and it's amazing to watch it happen before my very eyes.
Thank you and all of the MacJamers that have made Woodstock-MJ the success it is becoming
Ed
Roxylee

You two had me rolling in the aisle - well laughing in my chair. Great concept and even better performance. I loved it!
Roxylee
because that was our intention. <GGG>
MarkHolbrook
Since Roxy posted this I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how she did the Dylan voice!
Then I figured out it was YOU!
This is really sweet! And Roxy... gawd... I thought I had found a lost Joan Baez album somewhere!
You are amazing... what a voice!
This is really really great!
Roxylee
Oh, I'm sorry I didn't make that clear enough! (I've added it into the description, thank you for letting me know it wasn't clear!) Yeh, that was Feter- I couldn'tt sing like Bobby to save my life. Thank you for the compliment, Mark; I guess all those years of copying Joan have finally paid off.. lol We are pleased that you like our contribution. :-)
timothy devine
How very entertaining.
Thanks for this fine macjams moment.
funny,
very funny
how cool is this
Roxylee
I adore parodies, and this one was begging to be written, having known a bit of their history and the fact she sang there, and he didn't. I'm glad it ticked your funny bone. :-)
ValleyPastor
Wonderful job Roxy & Feter. Egos & reputations at Summer of Love lol.
I thoroughly enjoyed.
Roxylee
Well, musicians often have big egos, and it's fun to poke fun at it sometimes. Too bad I missed going to the real Woodstock fest.. and it was less than a 2 hour's drive from where I lived at the time. Oh, well, we have MacJams Woodstock. Thank you, Feter! :-)
selters

fun! very enjoyable, excellent quality recording by the way!
Roxylee
This is good to hear, since I recorded using the USB mic with the applet pre, and Feter recorded his voice into his computer's built ion pinhole mic. I'm happy that it came out sounding right. :-)
screamalexz

:-)
captures the spirit behind folk-rock
thanks
remember Paul Simon:
You say Dylan, he thinks you mean Dylan Thomas. The man ain%u2019t got no-o-o-o culture! :-)
Roxylee
along with "Albert, I've lost my harmonica." Back in the good old days, when lyrics and comments didn't make my ears cringe. Good to hear we have captured some of the folk scene essence. Thanks! :-)
Mystified
What a great combination! It was cool being 'part' of the conversation--very nice collaboration, you two!
Your voices blend very well together, too!
Thank you for sharing this here at MJs, and for the "Woodstock" idea :)
Some fabulous tracks here!
Roxylee
for stopping by to check this one out. It was such a fun idea that Feter started, and I'm enjoying the songs. I've missed some and need to go hear them all, somehow. (days are too short for all the music!) Thank you for the nice comment. :-)
Enrique Gil
You and Feter did a great job with this one. Really cooooooool!
Roxylee
Thank you. :-) It was a lot of fun. We are glad you enjoyed the acting. :-)
Pretty cool. Captures the essence of live-folk-back-when. Handclaps. Glad I ventured back to the Farm.
Roxylee
I'm glad you came backstage to overhear this one. Thanks! :-)
feter! you've made my grin muscles lock in place. you totally cracked me up. wow, roxy - you could BE j.b.! lovely full-out singing.

Roxylee
Yeh, I crack up every time I even think of Feter's annoyed Dylan voice in this. When I think of all the songs written for the Woodstock MJ, i am amazed at the creativity in this place. It was fun to write the words to this; parodies are such fun for me! I totally killed some Nanci Griffith songs, but that's another story. lol Thank you for listening and I'm glad it makes you crack up, too. :-)
damiengh
Yooose guys izz-a soh... soh.. funny..no?
I loved this. You guys should have been in that movie "A Mighty Wind", that movie parody: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Mighty_Wind ).
Could have been nicely added.
A very nice tribute indeed.
Roxylee
I love parodies, changing words to well known songs, writing silly things sometimes. Life can't be all work and no making fun of folk singers, right?
Thanks for the movie tip- I just found it in Netflix and put it at the top of my queue. This might inspire me... bwaaahaahaaa...
This is great Mrs. Roxy. Such great 2 talents joined together acting 2 legends... Really fine.
Thanks a lot for sharing, you really worked hard on that festival... I was watching the whole process but never had the chance to leave comments on the songs included. This is one of my most favorites in that great fest.
KUDOS! Great vocals and fine guitar playing. Where did feter recorded the guitar? WONDERFUL!! I'm really happy to hear such a tune.
Take Care
- Yeman A. Al-Rawi
Roxylee
Thank you so very much! I'm happy that this came out so pleasing to everyone who left a comment, and that is was one of your Woodstock faves. :-) Feter recorded his voice on the computer mic in the internet cafe, and I played the guitar. It's my 1968 Gibson Blue Ridge, and my only guitar. I'm glad you liked my playing. :-)
