Description:
The time is at hand Dr Lioli. Now you will meet your doom as the mighty forces of MacJams Super Loopers unleash a barrage of music to pierce the very depths of you black soul.

Or, at the very least to give you the worst headache you've every had, whichever comes first.

En Garde my fine fellow !

Way to funk up Dr. Lioli but good &mdash 03/28/08 - 09:29:06 PM
send him packing with a good dose of boogie whomp. That'll teach him to mess with captain S. Cool track.

That's the way to do it &mdash 03/28/08 - 09:37:09 PM
Just get it all going in one direction and hope for the best.
Besides, the doctor has no sense of rhythm and is obviously tone deaf of he would have realized the potential of the loop.

Thanks Bud for the cool comments.

Be Well my friend

Cover up &mdash 03/28/08 - 10:57:40 PM
You really threw a lot at this to smooth out the wretched loop and make a fine rocker. Nice done!

Thanks Harold &mdash 03/28/08 - 11:15:55 PM
Sometimes, they say, if you throw enough Stuff at the wall, some of it has to stick. So I just kept throwing it until it covered up that awful loop without hiding it entirely.

Thanks again for the kind words, they are appreciated I can tell you.

Way Cool &mdash 03/29/08 - 12:37:02 AM
I love the bluesey sound, but then you catch the Doc off guard with the southern organ loops.

Great job!

Like I said, if you throw enough at it, it helps to cover up the bad stuff.

Thanks for dropping in and having a listen. Glad you liked it and took time to let me know. Keep up the good work Stooey, I like what I've heard so far.

Be well.

Quite a melange of blues, funk, and electronic - but I'll be damned if you don't make it all work cohesively! Ah... I love the organ that peeks through here and there. Nice driving track. Impossible to stick in a single box and all the more enjoyable because of it!

Thanks Chik &mdash 03/29/08 - 02:04:14 AM
Glad you found it and liked it. It is kind of a conglomeration of styles, but that's so you don't notice that infernal loop the evil Dr. threw at us.

Anyway, thanks for the kind word. Be well my friend

Glad you dropped in for a listen, and for the kind words man. We had to do something to beat back the evil Doctor, and as a Captain in the MJCIA I felt the need to cut loose a little.

But not being prone to overdoing it, I help back a little. Didn't want to Nuke the Dr and at the same time destroy MJ City.

Loved the Rap weapon you used on him, a very effective weapon indeed.

Thanks again my friend

Listening to this, lots of awesome bands come to mind..Steppenwolf, Steve Miller, Foghat. You got some awesome style on that six string. Very clean and love those bends! You do those leads with the takamine or the ibanez? Good thing you don't live around here, I'd be buggin you to jam all the time. Fantastic entry Ed!

Thanks Willy &mdash 03/29/08 - 10:02:37 AM
Being a product of the 60's and 70's era I was there and felt the vibe of all those bands. Played a lot back then and contributed my part as well, but not in any way anyone would notice. this was a lot of fun for me, letting me get back into experimenting with music.

Anyway, thanks again for the cool words man, they are appreciated

Be well my friend and keep up the good work.

Oh we have had our way with the nefarious Dr. LIOLI and he is ours. But really, he never stood a chance against the Super Loopers of MacJams City. He's just a little slo sometimes at picking up on it.

Thanks again Skean glad you enjoyed my BIg Mac attack on the Evil Doctor.

Be well my friend

Deep guitar sound .... &mdash 03/29/08 - 08:59:29 AM
.... and a good variety of guitar sounds .... fast and slow. As usual a pleasure to listen to your taste.

Remember Luthor Alison ..... I got told by an other dane, Anders007 (play exellent guitar) that Jeff Healey just past away this month. Never heard of him but checked him out on YouTube. Man ... he can sing and play the guitar and in his own way. Great stuff.

It might inspire your guitar play ... further.
Just a hint to help progress.

Best Regards A friend, Claus

Thank you Claus &mdash 03/29/08 - 11:24:50 AM
The first time I ever saw Jeff Healy was in a movie somewhere. I don't remember the name of the movie, but he and his band were playing some gig in the movie and just watching him play, I was amazed at the site of it. He was really quite awesome to see playing and the music was just outstanding. It's a terrible loss finding out he passed away at such a young age. He was an extremely talented musician and will be sorely missed.

Oh yeah, back to the Lioli challenge. I knew we were gonna win this one just by looking at the roster of Super Loopers stacked up against the Evil Doctor, but I couldn't resist taking this one over the edge a little to drive the final nail in his coffin.

Thanks for the great words Claus. makes me feel the effort was worth it.
Be well my friend and thanks for all the encouragement.

I learned this from listening to &mdash 03/29/08 - 11:35:11 AM
Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer among other things. It was a lot of fun beating the Doctor back into where ever the hell it was he came from. Looking and listening to the talent amassed for the battle, he never had a chance.

That said, I'm glad you enjoyed the salad but for the main course you need to go listen to "Stoned Cold Lonesome Blues". That the meat and potato right there.

I like what you say Diviner, &mdash 03/29/08 - 03:42:41 PM
but I have to wonder what exactly this track is full of. Never mind, maybe it's better I don't know.

But aside from that, at least along with all the other Super Looper's tracks, we can rest assured that the Evil Dr. Lioli won't be back any time soon. Hopefully he'll realize he's met his match this time around and will give up on his quest to create mayhem an chaos in MacJams City.

Thanks again for the cool comments Keith. they are very much appreciated.

I don't know how . . . &mdash 03/29/08 - 05:32:48 PM
you transferred the groove from blues rock to synthesizers and 80's dance pop, but you did it smoothly. Love the guitar work in there. You toss a good salad, if I can say that in mixed company.

It's all in the wrist Greg. &mdash 03/29/08 - 08:28:15 PM
Oh wait, that's a different subject, one not fit for this venue.

I was just telling Rik as I was reviewing his song that all I did on mine was throw anything and everything I could at it in an attempt to cover the little sucker up. Kinda like a cat at the litter box trying to cover up his .......

How it came out not sounding like one of Edgar Allen Poe's nightmares is beyond me, but I guess it did. I must be very lucky. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket this week, ya think?

Anyway, glad you liked it and took the time to let me know Greg. Be cool man and stay well, we need more people like you here.

The Captain Has Arrived &mdash 03/29/08 - 10:16:51 PM
...from the dramatic superhero synth openings, you cruise this through swaths of bluesy rock with the kind of sure strong confidence that can only come from being... a Superhero!

Seriously, I'm blown away at how solid and smooth the different elements that knit this together just flow along. The loops (at least the ones I'm aware of) add touches of action that seem like they were made for this, and the entire piece just rocks.

I agree with you - once the doc saw the roster of talent, he should have just run!

Thanks Rik &mdash 03/29/08 - 11:10:42 PM
When it comes to foiling the Evil plans of the nefarious Doctor, we are all Super Heros. But alas, I fear we have not seen the last of this Evil creature. We may have rent him asunder this time, but he'll be back, and with a vengence. Wait and see.

This is my first LOILI challenge and it's really a blast to do one of these. I had it essentially finished on about day 2 of the challenge, but of course I just couldn't leave it alone with so much time till the posting date. Naturally I found ways to tweak it as the time got closer. And then one day about a week ago I just said, "It is done".
It was so much fun watching all the bantering back and forth between the Super Loopers and the Doctor. What a hoot.

Glad you liked it Rik, thanks again. Looking forward to another one in the future.
Be well my friend.

great chorused and phased guitars, driving drums and a B3 and a synth on top and the great use of loops...topped off with a super mix that uses the soundstage really well. Makes me wish I had done this one for sure.

Thanks Bill &mdash 03/29/08 - 11:23:52 PM
It's all in the wrist. Oh wait, that was a different conversation altogether wasn't it. It's tough to get old and lose you place inside your own head. Not at all for the faint at heart I'll tell ya.

Now where was I. Oh the song. Well all I can say is if you throw enough stuff at the wall, somethings gonna stick. I figured if I couldn't blind them with brilliance, I'd baffle them with Bulls**t.

Thanks for the kind words Bill, glad you liked it. Don't really know how it ended up where the song is, but it was sure fun along the way.

And the Doctor is no where to be seen, have you noticed that. He's probably hiding out shriveled up in terror right about now, and the weekend has just begun.

Makes me almost, I repeat, almost feel sorry for the little monster.

Be well my friend and thanks again

Hey Doug, when you've got a good organ, &mdash 03/30/08 - 04:28:06 PM
you use it all you can. I always loved the sound of an organ putting fills in to accentuate the rest of the rhythm and give it a counterpoint.

Thanks for the kind words Doug they are very much appreciated. When you try something like this you never know how it's going to effect other peoples ears so you try to mix it up good. The proof comes when you hear nice things about it from you fellow musicians.

Thanks again Doug, be well my friend

Thanks Cat &mdash 03/30/08 - 08:17:00 PM
This is my first Lioli challenge, and I would have never guessed it would be so much fun to do one of these. But it sure was. I thought of several ways to splice and dice this loop up, but finally decided to mostly just use it as is, and build something around it that would keep the audience off guard. I figured if I just kept changing the shape of everything around it, it would fall into place and not be noticed unless you were really looking for it.

That said, I'm really glad to know you liked the way it turned out, and had some kind words to say about it.

Thanks again for listening Cat and the kind words. Be well and I wish you Peace

Glad you found some new shoe laces and decided to try a new loop on them.

Also gratifying to here that you like what I did to the little sucker. That Dr. Lioli didn't give us anything to work with, which was his plan from the very beginning. It was truly a loop it of lose it situation.

So I looped it until it wouldn't loop any more, and the results are what you've just listened to.

Thanks again for the kind words Mark. Be well and keep that Strat close at hand, we may need it in the final battle with the Doctor.

Love the drums and bass on this - what a great groove. Nice guitar licks throughout, with great keyboard playing. Love that organ sound too. The most impressive thing about this is that the loop is transmogrified into a good track - now that's magic! Nicely done. Peace.

You might have read in some of my other responses that if you throw enough Sh** at the wall, some of it is gonna stick. Well, that's what I did here. I just kept throwing stuff until that horrid loop melded into the mix and wasn't offending me anymore.

Thanks again for the kind words David, they are appreciated a lot. Actually it is all loops. I figured since it as a loop it or lose it challenge, it needed to be all loops. It wasn't until after the challenge was over I realized you could have done whatever I wanted, as long as I used the loop.

But it was still a lot of fun to do one of these and I learned a little more about what you can do in GB with loops.

Glad you liked it and thanks again for taking time to send along sone kind words Youra, it is very much appreciated.
