-- Mary Jane

Lyrics:
Riding thru the valley on a summer afternoon

In my mind's eye
Go through the woods
My horse knows the way

In my mind's eye
I see the trails
My horse knows the way

Riding thru the valley on a summer afternoon
Butterflies are landing on the flowers far away

In my mind's eye
I can see trails
I just ride

In my mind's eye
I ride
I ride

Riding thru the valley on a summer afternoon
Butterflies are landing on the flowers far away
Floating on the breeze I hear you sigh

In my mind's eye
I ride
I ride

I'm not sure which part is the chorus and which one is the verse. How do you tell them apart?

glad you called my attention to this

this feels like it rides along somehow, maybe it's the time signature?

how did you do the vocals? it's very surreal

thanks

I like the number 5. But I don't know if this is really in 5/4 time or maybe 10/8 or something else. All I did is I sampled my voice and processed it using Garage Band.

This is so intense &mdash 03/30/08 - 09:33:38 AM
I love the prog bass and drums - very Fred Frith / Henry Cow - really impressive arrangement. with the addition of your vocals this just goes to a whole 'nother place. Brilliant entry to the festival - timeless and trippy.

You've a special talent. A modern day Laurie Anderson.
I'm a fan.

Laurie Anderson, Modernity &mdash 04/26/08 - 06:52:20 AM
I hear the Laurie Anderson vibe too, but a "modern-day" Laurie Anderson? I thought Laurie Anderson was a modern-day Laurie Anderson! ;>)

I like the way you subvert a great melody - what's the b.p.m. on this track please? Absolutely first class. Aw the best.

I had to go back and look. It's set at tempo 80 and time 5/4. A lot it is in groups with 12 measures. I'm not actually sure what the real time is. I counted out fives to time when to sing and I left part of that in the beginning of the song.
