Description:
Tried to get a cross between Jayhawks and Springsteen. Left the drum machine for back beat. Harmonica used instead of Eagle type "ooohs" on the second verse. Went more for "The River" sound. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
Lyrics:
A SHADE INSIDE THE MOONMusic and Lyrics by: Sean C. O’Malley © 2008
I never expected all the lies to get in the way
I’m always attracted to the ones who seem to get away
_____________________________________________
When the race was on and the bells rang out
I stood still with all my doubts
My mind made up, all fears erased, I’ve moved on to a better place
_____________________________________________
I can’t mend
Like asphalt on the street
Many times I left there incomplete
______________________________________________
Like stars lining up two by two
You did to me what I did to you
My thoughts of you are like shades inside the moon
_______________________________________________
Help me to remember, when the sun turned into the moon
I must have been sleeping, But I knew it would be coming soon
Cause I could hear, the rain was near
You cried out, with all your might
Promised me almost everything nothing was there but the cold and wind
_________________________________________________
BRIDGE
All the reasons I bring it up
Again and again and again
Promised myself I’d be comin’ ‘round
So I wouldn’t have to say it again

the Jayhawks and this great song would fit in nicely on one of their albums. Solid production too!
Thanks for sharing.

Every song you post simply blows me away.
Really amazing stuff.... Question though: What happened to "Love song"? It it coming back with edits? That is another of your simply great works!
Keep rockin Sean... You are the best.

Going blind as well... I see it's there now that I look!

are nice here, vocals sound natural and relaxed. The low end of the bass could be boosted in the eq some to round out the low end. Nice harp, pencil neck.
