Description:
An old song that I'm posting here for the first time. I still kinda like it, although it's not very Roca. I was informed that the words "frost" and "shimmer" are often used together to sell women's hair products. Well, oops, I guess. I decided to keep my original title anyway, at the risk that I'll be suspected of browsing Cosmo or some such.Actually, I was thinking of the sun breaking through the winter morning clouds, and the way the ice crystals on the trees shimmer in reflection. The intro is dark and cold, stepping out of a mountain cabin in the post-dawn, the middle is introspective and complacent, alone in the gray-sky gloom and silence of the morning. Then the sun breaks through, and everything changes. After that, I power saw my way through a stand of big trees, just for the hell of it. Anyway, that's what I was thinking about at the time (except for the bit with the power saw). I should have played the guitar part on this, but I didn't. It's one of the guitar harmonics settings on the EXSP24. The backing synths are Zebra 2 presets that I added into this new version. The Bellsphere Basic makes a brief appearance near the end. Comments, complaints, criticisms, and critiques are welcome. |
