Description
When the nefarious 80's Rock Guitar was introduced as a LIOLI 7 challenge, I had far too many possibilities to just stop at one track.

This "Subterranean" variation was actually the first that I worked on, but the posted "Capture" was the one I thought was most 'complete' as a composition to present in the challenge.

"Subterranean" is offered as part of the Hero's Journey Project, because it's a track that invites the imagination to create a scene or story of its own.

All the mechanical sounds you hear in this piece are various manipulations of the Guitar loop, reversed then fragmented in KT Granulator on various settings.

Additional sound effects come from the freesound project: http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/
thanks to: tweeterjd (crowd sounds) and roubignolle (door shutting) and mattlohkamp (door shutting)

(you might also hear the artists Mungo and sonic magpie passing through...)

Futuristic is right!
Wow, this gives me shivers.. It's amazing, the sounds you got out of a guitar loop! Your projects are awesomely innovative, and this one is no exception. Just amazing...

a journey
remarkably innovative. I love imagery through sound and you have created quite a delicate pallet. Is this Mungo of new or something old?

Mungo....
I put a short, passing snippet of "Refinished Business" in this--which was a remix of Mungo's "Unfinished Business" a couple of years ago. The former is posted on my song list.

Thanks for leaving a comment :) Glad you enjoyed!

Please stand on throbbing blue line...
Please keep your hands to yourself...

Reminds me so much of 'I Guess We're All Bozos On This Bus'....

And, for that matter...
...certain subterranean moments in Myst... and Riven...

Now why would that be?

Many Musical eManations from Myst-like Machines (Mighty nice!)
Very cool, creative, and otherworldly. I think everyone's imagination will be kicked into gear with this piece. A great addition to the Project Cat! Thanks very much for sharing.

Keep well,
Doug

definitely impressionistic. makes one wonder what we will evolve to futuristically in what we want to hear. and what we must hear.

SciFi commuting!
This reminds me a bit of my commuting in London...except this is a shiny scifi version devoid of London ennui hehe.
I would like to hear you extend this into a full blown impressionistic Scifi rock opera!
Great stuff!!
