Description:
this is a newer recording of an older song. i think i have the original and a mixed version on here. i added a melody guitar to this. i want to redo the vocal track though, and i am thinking perhaps i should record it just a tad slower it felt like i had to rush the words out a little for the feeling it's supposed to have. i'm mostly proud of the melody track i put on this. i think it may be a little too loud in the mix though. any thoughts?
Lyrics:
i know it's hard so hard
don't give into pain
i know it's hard so hard
her heart's so cold so cold
don't give into misery
you long to hold her close
i know it's hard so hard
i know it's gone so gone
i know it's black inside
but you have to get by
cut so deep inside
you have to find a way
it'll be alright tonight
something has to break
just keep trying
let go of the pain
i know it's hard so hard
her heart's so dead so dead
just hold on and put the knife back down
some one out there knows you're pain
i know it's hard so hard
falling faster
just keep falling you'll hit the ground soon
just keep falling it;ll all be over soon
i know its hard so hard
her heart's so cold so cold
i know it's hard so hard
but you'll never let her go
you'll never let her go

You have a great voice and i like the guitar. The song is very sad, and i can feel the pain for you! lol now lets see if you get some inspiration for a happy song for the next masterpiece :) [ Reply to This ]
thank you &mdash 04/01/08 - 12:39:47 PM
thanks. i don't think a song would come out sounding happy even if i were happy when i wrote it though lol. i perhaps have one that would sound almost happy to people, but it's one it will take years until i can even come close to being able to do it justice for how much it means to me and the feelings that i had when i wrote it. Yes! &mdash 04/01/08 - 12:41:18 PM
It's very hard at times...But as Cat Stevens wrote oh so long ago: "We're locked toward the future."
Nice, plaintive melody. Well sung too. Your vocalisings fit the subject matter hand-in-glove.
Well done friend! [ Reply to This ]

thanks. this song is like many i've written that comes out differently when i sing it depending on exactly how i feel. when i feel rather melancholy it sort of comes out with a softer sad feeling. ive always had troubles with deciding which type of emotion i prefer on a recording. anyways thanks for the listen. Hya Buddy
This sounds sooo sad but you know what I think its yours style
it does fit the sad subject matter that you sing about as someone said already. But I do not want you to have to feel sad to be a good singer,
Know what I mean.
But your guitar is sounding better and better everytime I hear it.
Well done. You are a really great person very talented as well
keep up the good work.
Peace Dee xx

aww thanks. this was actually recorded before any of my newer posts on here. when i did it that's what inspired me to start messing around with melodies. [ Reply to This ]
Potential! &mdash 04/01/08 - 06:03:15 PM
and lots of it. I do like the voice, but what I am feeling with the song does not require the extraneous effort put into the vocals, or perhaps just in areas of the song which need that impact. Great lyrics. Great song all around. [ Reply to This ]
vocals &mdash 04/01/08 - 09:36:04 PM
thats why i wanted to redo the vocals and perhaps slow the pace down a little because i felt i was straining a tad. that partly may have been because i hadn't sung this song in a few months as well. thank you for the comment. [ Reply to This ]

great how I missed that important information. Seriously though, the song is wonderful and I look forward to hearing an update.

sad but a compelling listen &mdash 04/02/08 - 05:19:12 AM
The plainitive feel really suits the lyrics which express the pain felt so well.
Not one for a jolly spring day maybe but a great song that really conveys its meaning and the feelings associated with this sort of life experience.Maybe the vocal could be a bit louder in the mix if you decide to re-record it. [ Reply to This ]

i think i may turn down the melody guitar in the mix so it doesn't over power the vocals. i originally had it quieter in the mix and brought it up more but i think it may be a little too loud now. thanks for the comment. [ Reply to This ]
