Description:
I started this song a while back to pay tribute to my new dog, Speckles, but never got too far with it, so I decided to try using Tune Toys' Muse-o-matic to help me compose it. I typed in speckles and it generated a midi file that I dragged into Logic. I assigned instruments to the 3 midi tracks that were created, piano, upright bass and xylophone. The notes were a sort of wacky chord sequence that didn't make sense, so I sort of dragged the notes as a group up or down, bar by bar, to create a set of chord changes that made sense in a conventional way, but the melody is all generated by muse-o-matic, other than that. I played acoustic and electric guitar to go along with this and came up with a galloping drum part that reminds me of the goofy puppy energy that Speckles has, and there you have it! It's way shorter than my usual song, but Speckles has a really short attention span! It's not highly experimental, but in terms of music composition, maybe it is. Check out Tunetoys for more fun with music generation!

concept is crazy. You make it sound easier than it is to actually follow the midi creation, your accompaniment on guitars and the drum part you did is awesome.
