Keywords:
Bolero (4)
Description:
I've heard this wonderful TUMI rhythm loop and my first thougt was the Bolero by Ravel.
So I tried to create something in this way...
Not as easy as expected...
Here is my Bolero.
Work in progress, the end is not as punchy as I want and comes too sudden.. what do you think?
I for myself , I like it, so I posted it...

I wanted to switch seamlessly from a very electronic sound to a more natural one.
I used the Remedy synth for the flute sound.
What do you think?

Lyrics:
none

Hardware:
I-Mac.. M-audio Keystation 88es

Software:

Thanks a lot for listening und für Deinen netten Kommentar!

It is like eating chips: once I have opened he package, I can't stop ;-):
In the end the piec will be longer.... Going as far as the dynamics of GB reaches...

Wow! &mdash 04/04/08 - 07:42:15 PM
This is pretty incredible. I'd really like to hear more about how long it took you to create and more about what you were thinking when you were doing it. I absolutely hear the Bolero influence and I really do think this has the same type of majesty. Really wonderful and epic! --ledebutant

Oh! I am honored! &mdash 04/04/08 - 08:10:36 PM
It took one long evening, I was not able to stop...
Started today at 6:00 PM and still not finished at 2:00 AM

(CEST, Central European Summertime)

Hard to describe what I felt.. The mean engine, I think, was passion, the same passion as you can see in some eyes, some artist has had in her profile picture earlier...;-)
(Don't want o offend you...)

There is some mystic touch in Ravels Bolero, it is about search and find, passion and erotic, but if it is played correctly, there is no need to hurry, no need to accelerate, but majesty and the need to feel.

It is really a good kind of music to make love...
Do I need to set the explicit tag here?

When I try to create something in this way, knowing, that I will never reach the original, I try to "sit on my hands", not to overdue, just to let it happen.
And, funny, I am not happy with the result as a (little) musician, but I love it anyway...

I hope you understand my poor english...

Greetings from Lower Saxony in Germany and thanks a lot for listening and support.

Bernd

This is INCREDIBLE - one of my all time fave MJ posts - I'm running for the download button. I agree with ledebutant - it'd be great to hear more about this. Easy to hear the Bolero in there - masterful work!

Thank you! &mdash 04/04/08 - 08:41:47 PM
I am really honored...

To extend my answer to ledebutant:

I still want to improve this song... It needs to be a fine bow, beginning slow and altering, extending it's tension in an exponential way.
Regarding this, the end does not match and the piece is still a little bit too short.
I have only ISDN network at my computer ( I live in a very little town near Lunenburg) that means I have only 128 kbit per second internet connection at the moment. It took 12 minutes to upload the song, so don't be offended, if I only post on a few of your music. It is a lack of time.
I hope my broadband connection will run in may...

Thank you a lot for listening and leaving your comment!
I am happy, that you enjoyed it.

Greetings,

Bernd

Sorry for my poor english skills...

Hi Bernd.... &mdash 04/05/08 - 07:46:53 AM
This is an excellent piece of music and a wonderful start. I await the next installment with eager anticipation.

You capture the essence of Bolero very, very well!!

Take care.

Wow, &mdash 04/05/08 - 10:21:40 AM
this was truly a fantastic treat you served today! I love Bolero - and I tend to think of those ice skaters who had the full song running through their show many years ago, I can't remember their names... - and this was a great take on the song. I must echo Eckleiste: You ARE a very good musician! Thanks for this start, which is great in itself, but which I guess could be extended even further! Hope all is well (that is, all except the missing broadband... :-| )

/Henrik

Yes, but you know, you have no reason &mdash 04/05/08 - 04:32:17 PM
to complain about your language use here. It works just fine. Misspellings ahppen(!) to all of us - even me ;-) I just read a comment I wrote earlier today and it was "full" of them, but I didn't notice at the time. Since we can't edit the comments there isn't much we can do, just let them be where we find them, like you said..! Now off to the new version of this song!

In today's &mdash 04/07/08 - 08:02:18 PM
world too much is about instant satisfaction. This cuts against that and builds so perfectly. I like the synth voicings you chose. It also reminds me of early Mike Oldfield. Thanks for such an involved piece.
