Description:
Who killed the EV1? Maybe a bad case of Gearhead Infection.

Lyrics:
Acceleration, Pulse rate racing, Power brake the line
Stroker Engine, Power forged pistons, Think you’ll do just fine
Fuel injection, Gear head infection, It’s connection…

Turbos whining, NOS induction, Hooked to a throttle switch
Hold her tight, She’ll turn you right, Feather the pedal rich
Fuel injection, Gear head infection, It’s connection…

Hold the torque, Bearing down force, Your in overdrive
Spark ignition, Blueprint engine, Let her open wide
Fuel injection, Gear head infection, It’s connection…

Real cool, John! &mdash 04/05/08 - 09:12:11 AM
I've always been a strong believer of songs about cars... just never been able to write one myself.

Guitars smoke on this! Man, I love the way you play. I wasn't sure about the vocal effects... but that was on the crappy powerbook speakers... plugged in headphones and it made all the difference in the world! Very cool mechanical sound... very fitting! Nice work here!

Rev-head heaven! Rhythm guits are my favourite ... until the keys come in - great sound ;) Vocals sound just right.

This reminds me of... &mdash 04/07/08 - 07:30:44 AM
...Neil Young on 'Trans'... blending the more or less natural vocal with the altered backing vocal that sounds almost vocodered...

Nice neo-post-psychedelic solo against almost-Jon-Lord organ bits... The guitar gets nicely almost-out-of-control at times...

Holy John Lord's Hammond! &mdash 04/07/08 - 08:02:42 PM
I needed a new title, since Vic Holman stole my idea (before I had it): Highway Star. Great tune, Tex, as usual. I appreciate your stringwork, always feel connected to it... we probably have similar listening roots, though you're more pro than I.

First of all I would like to thank everyone who come by and took a listen. I just realized today that I had uploaded an earlier version of the song. This version is missing the updated drum track. Maybe on another version... I sure would hate to loose the commentary.

freefallefect... Love your stuff thanks so much for taking a listen.

Ecklesiste... I appreciate your encouragement and thanks for dropping by.

Egobandt... yep, you had it right in our earlier conversation... the cluster ended up wanting a Richie guitar solo... I couldn't get a hold of him though.

magnatone... thanks for the attention and enjoyed chatting with you the other day.

Vic... always a pleasure to read your comments, your right on the money.

Kenta... Yeah!

aclark... believe it or not this all started out with a slide guitar and a vocoded vox... I never new it would end up like this...It might sound better with some different vocals, huh?

Davisamerica... thanks your so kind brother... always a pleasure to read your comments.

Neil... I tried to give the bass a piston sound using some raw settings. Pluck with the fingers and I never use a pick. I think it really set the driving mood to the song. Thanks for your comments.

Ed... I can't get away from that Neil Young vocal pallet but hey it worked great for him... he just got to do it first. Big fan of his. As always I'm a bit out of control on those leads, I used the Richie On the Silver Mountain setting in the electric guitar Legacy setting. As far as the keys... they take so much time to do and they should have been layered all the way through the song. Thanks for your insight... it's greatly appreciated.

Micheal... thanks so much for stopping by... it's been too long. Thanks for the encouragement.

Bob6Stringer... Hey... I'm with you... It's connection I believe. We have a lot in common musically, not to mention that your too kind and I doubt I'm any better than the likes of you. Love your stuff and your encouragement as well.
