Beautiful - &mdash 04/06/08 - 09:29:16 AM
Beautiful, as always Bill, and this is a tune that I think is amongst the most beautiful ever written. Are you playing with a pick? If so, that would explain why almost all of your chords are broken (i.e. slightly arpeggiated), but I found that a bit disconcerting, for what it's worth. But no matter; you are a huge talent, and I'm always impressed by your playing and musicianship.

Romantic &mdash 04/06/08 - 09:54:52 AM
I think one of my strongest reasons that I love music is that I am a real romantic at heart. And I do have a tendency to draw things out. I felt that Bach, in this piece conceptualized this and that is what I loved about Christopher Parkenings way of playiing it. I guess I wanted to magnify his style and bring out the romance of this piece. Thanks cc for posting.

With a lot of feeling. Of course that's what I expect when I see you've posted a new piece, and I've haven't been disappointed yet.

Wonderful &mdash 04/06/08 - 06:40:19 PM
restraint and pacing that really marks the Bach temperament. You always make it sound easy, and those low notes are great.

Love the restraint Bill &mdash 04/06/08 - 11:05:25 PM
This sounds like what I'd do (in my dreams) late at night after everyone's gone to bed. Out on the deck with a glass of red.

Relaxing and inspiring.

WHITE wine with Bach, Neil... I'm suggesting a crisp Riesling...

Beautiful playing. You are so talented. I really respect guitar players who can play Bach. It's hard enough on a keyboard instrument. I think it must be doubly so on a guitar.

What I love here, Bill... &mdash 04/08/08 - 07:32:47 AM
Is the thoughtful, almost meditative pace that you give this... Really taking your time with it... It has the feel of listening to someone in another room playing through a piece they love without worrying about the rules or the traditional approach, but still playing from the heart...

I know that this piece is not exacting &mdash 04/08/08 - 09:34:21 AM
especially the end when I added a finalization of the piece. I know I am not a Christopher Parkening, I adore his playing. I simply though am not him.

Thanks Ed for the comments.
