thoughts from the bull... &mdash 04/07/08 - 10:19:04 AM
after comparing the original instrumental piece you had
posted prior to the completed arrangement here, I have
realized that the "story" being told here is really
nothing new. In fact, it's fairly clich and has been
a theme of love songs/stories forever.
however, the history of this piece alone makes this more
remarkable than many songs of its ilk; the fact that you
provided a musical landscape that had been so eloquently
staged, allowed the vocal performance to be dropped in
without much more than a thought. anyone could have
come along and dropped in a vocal performance to this
piece and it would have likely worked.
however, again, just anyone could not, likely, have
delivered such a brilliantly rendered performance as
the one given here. the pace, timing, and balance of
the wording with the music is, as others have said,
just perfect! it's a case where, even though the story
may be slightly of clich origins, it is made completely
fresh and compelling through the intensity and confidence
of the final delivery of the piece as a whole.
this song gives true credence to the term "collaboration."
whomever was involved in the production of this song
should be truly proud of a MacJams gem that deserves
every ounce of attention it gets.
sorry to be so long-winded. it's a really good track.
thank you for sharing your talents!
