Description:
From Cat:

This is the 3rd and final song in the' Industrielle' series: NOISE.
It started out innocently enough: a single Apple GarageBand guitar loop that I twisted inside out and put through KT Granulator....but by the time I'd assembled all the tracks together I'd created a monster.

I couldn't seem to get all this NOISE to work together without creating a sonic mess--so I turned to the master sonic magpie in residence, Bryn, to clean it up. And did he ever!

As a result, Industrielle #3: NOISE is a sonic magpie collaboration.

Thanks to Bryn for taming the wild frequencies, adding vocals, and totally booming out the bass!

Oh...and watch out for your speakers. Keep small animals, crystal goblets and other breakable items out of the way ;)

Instrumental/Lyrics/Vocals: Mystified
Final production/additional vocals, beats, reverb: biba_nova

Lyrics:
Once upon a time there were words spoken;
Once upon a time there were promises broken;
Now those words are just NOISE.

Once upon a time there were words,
Now just NOISE....NOISE
Words to sound
Sound to oblivion...
Easy to forget...

What I thought was resonant reflection
Turns out to be just NOISE.
It's just NOISE...
It's just NOISE...

(promises in decibels)

thx for the warning &mdash 04/07/08 - 07:31:35 AM
my little desktop speakers would have melted. Great industrial track. A little melodic steam, some rythymic clanking and Mystie's wonderful voice.

I agree - we need an album! These works have been so outstanding, it's hard to adequately put into words. Congratulations on this killer achievement. The vocals here, the way it's all put together are absolutely terrific!

a sonic mess sounds fun though. peaceful vocals. i like the industrial feel. i like the backing choir type vocals. there's one part in perticular during the song that it sounds great. nice track

Empty words, signifying nothing &mdash 04/07/08 - 11:08:38 AM
We seem to have a lot of songs lately here at MJ about background noise in our lives. I dig this.

noise, eh? &mdash 04/07/08 - 12:32:16 PM
Not really... more like controlled crunchies, with that mystifying liquid poured over the top... tasty breakfast cereal! I admit I wanted a hard-stop at the end, with a final resounding grinding thump resonating off into the pixellated distance, but a soft ending was OK too. Love the rhythm and sparkles of grit making vortexes in my ear canal from Bryn's workshop. Nice collab, as always!

Mmmmm..... &mdash 04/07/08 - 02:18:47 PM
Yep. This works for me.

Magically mixed and moved around to make a dynamic Ambient extravaganza!!

Another 'well done' from me.

Take care.

Blimey.. &mdash 04/07/08 - 04:17:00 PM
.. that is some bass, pattern was catchy and meanders nicely.. listening on headphones I had to turned down a bit .. my brain was shaking :) over-powering.. I really liked the way the percussion (castanets?) worked with the low rate bitcrushing on the higher end .. I'll try my monitors tomorrow.

vocals we're excellent as always .. lead line could have come up a bit... in relation to the backing.

Machine like traits .. hmm some metallic pipe clanking
might not have gone amiss ..

Big sounds &mdash 04/07/08 - 06:38:15 PM
Very nicely done - my 'phones handled the bass well, which is good after finding them complaining about something I played yesterday with a big bass.

I'd like maybe 1 or 2 db more on the main voice Cat, but that's purely a personal thing.

You and Bryn are producing some very interesting music lately.

I'm ambivalent . . . &mdash 04/08/08 - 10:26:19 PM
about those vocals, but they fit really well. I think it's good to have elements in a song that you love to hate. It's a wonderfully performed and produced tune; I just can't make up my mind about those vocals. They're so not industrial! Really cool juxtaposition in here.

sonic magpie... &mdash 04/09/08 - 04:06:39 PM
..is all about mixing up genres, so the fact that you're not entirely sure about the vocals just might be a good thing ;)
I jokingly told Bryn that we'd created an 'Industriambient' genre with this one.

I'm glad you stopped by and took the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading thoughtful comments as yours.

I think &mdash 04/10/08 - 09:23:24 PM
that Industrial Ambient really fits! You both are never afraid to stretch the canvas and that makes all of your music so interesting.

A absolute taste treat!!! &mdash 04/28/08 - 08:23:10 PM
Oh yes! This is so my cup of tea! Some blackness with dirty gold sparkles. I love the depth and width of this. The track is thickolicious and the vocal is just the perfect mood and so aptly placed... Praise the gods it's the correct length! Not self indulgent, just the right amount of taste to leave the listener wanting more.
This is just perfect!

Brain rattler? &mdash 05/07/08 - 09:40:49 PM
My brain is much smaller in size than your standard unit, thus it takes far less db's to shake things up within my noggin, lol! Please be carful........ Dare I say I'm impressed? This is a lot of things....... but what really matters is the simple fact that it kicks butt sideways! Thanks for the listen oh mighty silent one. Very nicely done and top notch production as per usual.

Kudos indeed,

Ax
