Description:
My English friend Ralph Ambrose sent me his inspiring Lyrics yesterday ...

I'm not sure about the genre, maybe an inspirational post-trip-hop ballad ...?
Hope you like it :-)

Lyrics:
a fresh white canvas is not empty
do you see the shadows move?
trace the contours delicately
feel the life within

an empty room is never silent
don't you hear them call your name?
watch the colours in the shadows
see the life within

somewhere just beyond your reach
hordes of lovers wait to teach
everyone to see the wonder
of a maggot in a peach

a silent coffin is not empty
taste the cinnamon
do you smell the scent of amber?
can you hear them sing?

Very nice Andreas &mdash 04/08/08 - 05:07:15 AM
When I listen to your posts I often picture the Beyerische Staatsoper - we lived in Neuhausen in 1994, and that's one of the places that sticks in my mind.

You manage to combine classical and electronica (with a touch of Gregorian chant) in a very accessible way. You are one of the most interesting musicians here at MJ. I'm always impressed by your work.

Danke sehr!
Neil

Dirigent, this is stunning. Your voice is like none other, and I'm so happy to see a new post from you! I'm on my third listen, and I don't think I want to do anything else today but listen to this gorgeous song. Thank you for the beautiful music you give us!

Wow! &mdash 04/08/08 - 10:42:15 AM
The range of your voice is astounding. This last piece I heard, your vox were so low, they were almost scary. This my friend, has the flavor of "Sting" in some parts.

Impressive as always. I still can't get over your range...Enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for sharing.

at the end of superlatives... &mdash 04/08/08 - 02:47:20 PM
perhaps not quite... I always love listening to your incredibly smooth, versatile, finely-controlled, extremely expressive singing voice. I like the thought-provoking lyrics a great deal as well, and the music and melody lines are very satisfying. The actual backing synths you use seem a little too far back, and possibly missing some low-end "bite", and the drumming perhaps was a little too loud, but those are my opinions. Oh, and at the very end of the fourth line, before you finish singing the last word ("within") there are a bunch of sound effects (coughing, echoes, singing) that step on the word and it gets lost. I would give a little room for the lyrics to stand out there.

I offer these suggestions as a listener, only because I really love your work. This one is no exception... good to hear a new one from you Andreas!

Drakonis

Another triumph &mdash 04/09/08 - 01:54:36 AM
I continue to be amazed by the gift that is your voice. I highly enjoy how you creatively frame it with your arrangement, which in this case works perfectly with the enigmatic lyrics. You take chances and succeed every time.

Thank you for continuing to bring your masterful music to us here.

Excellent arrangement and choice of sounds.

I love the choral quality of your voice against the techno backing.

Cheers
