Description
This is a short mix that was put together at the same time as 'The Journey' and so could be second offering for THJ Project.

The mix is basically a rough, lo fi adventure-type piece of music. There is suspense and relief and, on occasion, a background choir.

Let me know what you think.

There may be some artifacts audible in your listening but hopefully they will not detract too much from what the piece is trying to portray.

OK, here's what I think - why aren't you world famous?? For what it's worth, THAT'S what I think! This is wonderful - great musical environs in which to feel all the feelings it's taking to and then pulling us away from. You're work is so impressive - I didn't hear any "artifacts", but even if I did, I'm sure they would've added, not detracted! Thanks

Hi Karen......
You are so very kind. I really appreciate your words and they do encourage me, good or bad, to continue with this type of soundscape, albeit with small changes along the way. I have to move where the mood and music take me.

Once again thanks for your words of encouragement.

Take care.

Paul

Hi Paul.....
This, and others of my pieces, will indeed be 'telling a story' as they may become a part of Doug Summer's Heroes Journey Project.

I prefer doing this type of piece to using loops although loop-made music excites me still, so these type of pieces will crop up from time to time. (Maybe a Polynesian tune in a couple of days).

Once again thanks for listening and leaving your kind comments.

Take care.

Hi Dee......
I'm glad that you have enjoyed something from another of my mixes. They are being produced (hopefully) to be used as part of the Heroes Journey Project and so have a somewhat more cinematic-/epic-type slant, so maybe making them sound a little bit bigger than normal.

Thanks for listening and leaving your comments.

Take care.

nice
work Paul. really great, good sounds and a nice creeping build with elements coming in as the piece progresses. excellent for THJ project. it was interesting to hear a guitar in your work too; was that a first? really enjoyed this very much.

hahaha
i was listening to Tangerine Dream while i did some work online, turned it down really low for a minute and forgot that itunes was still on. so that guitar I heard was actually coming from the TD recording. i have since gone back and re-listened to your piece without them in the background, and i still find it excellent. pretty amazing though how the 2 pieces worked so well together (it was something on Miracle Mile), they were both very similar actually.

Hi Michael.......
I'm glad that you found where the mystery guitar came from. Especially, as you found, that it was coming from a TD song. That and the fact that I am often told that my music sounds something akin to TD fit together very well.

I'll have to dig out my CD's and see if I have Miracle Mile. I can't say that I have heard this album but I will make an effort to do so, as I enjoy some of their music.

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate you taking time out whilst you heal, to listen and leave your words.

Take care and all the best.

reality movie track
at this very moment, we have a cold blooded murderer hiding in our little town, and there are now more law officers and their vehicles than residents as the manhunt revs up. this sounds like a perfect backing!
i like dark, edgy stuff - this was certainly that!
i enjoyed your creation, paul

Hi sis......
Thanks for your encouraging words. I see where you're coming from with the killer on the loose and my evocative track.

I hope that they catch the perp. pretty soon, for yours and every other decent person in town.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
