I got into the tubas and french horns of JP4. Not 100% happy with those few high notes near the end.

This could turn into something longer methinks?

And yes... the ipod nano... it's gone. drowned in the rain. Bye bye.

nice one cj &mdash 04/10/08 - 09:17:28 AM
sorry you lost your nano. That happened to me last night. I have insomnia and I use my nano to help me go to sleep. I couldn't find it for a while and when you tired, waking up around 4am, ya kind of want the nano close by. But i couldn't find it but finally did.

So I thought it striking that the first tune on my fav list in email was titled lost ipod!

Thanks for sharing your music and TITLE ! :)

Lost iPod &mdash 04/10/08 - 09:41:46 AM
This is becoming a universal problem - they're so danged small and easy to lose - and when you do, it's TRAGIC! Your piece expresses the true, inconsolable, forelorn tragedy if the lost iPod. Good work (hope it magically rematerializes for you) (Why the heck aren't they waterproof I ask you??)

Sorry that happened! &mdash 04/10/08 - 09:53:09 AM
Poor little nano... Well to have lived and played music is better than to have remained in stock in some warehouse! :-)

OK &mdash 04/14/08 - 03:26:28 PM
You got this funeral music quite right! When your iPod has dried out really well I wouldn't be too surprised if it came to life again. That is, if it really was pure (rain) water it drowned in. So your next song may be a somewhat happier resurrection theme?! [Good luck with it!]

Sombre fanfare &mdash 04/14/08 - 09:13:17 PM
Yup it could be a longer piece but this works extremely well as it is with the sombre main section giving way to a major key in the final few bars (yes I like those higher notes at the end...). It kinda tells a story of loss and then reconciliation with that loss and a realisation that life goes on ;)

interesting sounds &mdash 04/22/08 - 04:03:22 PM
Melodically this reminds a bit of Koyaanisquatsi by Philip Glass...but much more minimal
Sorry to hear about the Ipod...bummer!

Definitely longer &mdash 04/27/08 - 02:45:07 PM
This has lots of potential for development. I like the way the horns move around each other---very stately and calm. I think strings would be an easy way to embellish this piece.

Nice music, too bad the iPod's out of commission.
Bye bye.
