Description:
Something that's been in my head for years. This is my first attempt at going from my head to what you are listening to. I have never recorded before unless you count push play and record at the same time. I sure have a long way to go, but what a good time I had. That's what it's all about.

Fun rhythms... &mdash 04/16/08 - 03:55:51 PM
The dog has that questioning look, as if to say "OK, so that's great music, but why are you hopping around backward on one foot like that, you just knocked over my water bowl!"
Nice nice stuff, you are really having some tight fun playing with the modern-day 4-track :-) So, you did a good job panning the guitar tracks apart a bit, so they remain distinct. Now to start moving into the tricky territory of equalization and volume levels... the gritty overdriven guitars tend to bleed on each-other frequency-wise, so that muddies this a little, and possibly just me, but it is a little harsh on my ears, so you may need to play with some high-frequency reduction.
But I love the jam session, great stuff! Welcome to Macjams... now go refill that water bowl!

Yay! &mdash 04/16/08 - 04:06:57 PM
Love hearing peoples first attempts and this is a hottie first for sure!
Drak already gave you a great critique and yeah your upper freq is just a bit hot, maybe lay back on the crunch just a bit or hell go to your visual eq and knob it down just a bit in the high range :).
I get the feeling youre going to do well at this whole comp recording thang! Man you do know how to swing! Woot!

I quite like .. &mdash 04/16/08 - 04:20:54 PM
.. that bright tone myself .. I think it's sharpness would lessen in a mix with some more backing for it to blend into.. some blanket rock organ and honky tonk piano .. cool jam .. tight ..kinda Black Crowes version of "Too hard to handle" meets Doug Wood band's "drag racer".
Cool - welcome to MJs! [ Reply to This ]
