I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much. My bud J was playing mando. The sick part is that he had only been playing about five or six months.

I like the way it picks up at about 47 seconds and takes us on a nice acoustic work out. For someone whose been playing 6 months the mandolin player is doing a great job. Maybe the madolin and guitar should take it in turns to be made louder in the mix as if they are taking turns in the lead role. Great as it is though!
Thanks
Steve

some nice playing i think. has a nice old folky sound to it. like how it gets a little heavier at 1 min in. fun jam. sounds like you're all really in tune with eachother

Very nice Russ! &mdash 04/18/08 - 02:24:54 PM
I love folk-rock. This has a nice appalachian feel, although the section right after the middle gets downright celtic! I kept wishing there was a lead fiddle to play off the mando...

All in all a great jam!

Be well!

couldn't resist the title - remember Elvis Costello's -Ghost Train....
Nice groove and lovely clear sound as well but would love to hear some vocals on it. Just my own thoughts. Very appealing indeed though just as it is.

Nice song &mdash 04/20/08 - 11:24:13 AM
Infectious rhythm after you get through the intro part and I like the way you've broken up that rhythm in a few places through the song. Now what you need is to write some killer lyrics for this, then you'll have a hit on your hands.

Nice track Russ, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ed &mdash 04/21/08 - 05:07:48 PM
As I said there are lyrics floating around. I hope someday to work them in. When more than one person creates a song, well you know what I am talking about. Thanks again.

Lyrics &mdash 04/28/08 - 10:02:08 AM
lyrics, bloody lyrics,tch...why do folk bang on about lyrics, this is a perfect wild ride instrumental all on its well performed ownsome.( no offense to anyone who voted for lyrics:-) okay? )It's got a roller coaster momentum to it and I love the changes in pace and rhythmn and lead instruments each one brings a new dynamic to the piece. It is almost cinematic,at one point I can hear Ennio Morricone type brass and falsetto voices then its almost a hillbilly breakdown. At one point almost a reggae feel, try singing over that lot !!You could simplify the piece for lyrics and that would be fine but as it is I think it really is bloody marvellous, well it appeals to me anyway...but wait what mischief is afoot and at work? What varlet has nicked off with the Download Button?

Many versions for this tune but none work well. I like the idea could be with time.
Thanks for the listen Russ

I agree &mdash 05/02/08 - 12:06:55 AM
This tune really rolls on it's own four wheels. I don't think it "needs" anything. It has such a natural flow to it. Yet another favorite.

Peace and Love,

Mike

tsada &mdash 06/08/08 - 07:38:02 PM
I like the sound of banjo, first I'm thinking of the "the boxer" then later it turns out to be really good country song, yes, it feels like you are indeed traveling in a van in the country side. This is what music all about, bringing you in time where the music wants you to be. Thanks for sharing
