I posted this yesterday and decided that it needed a little something, so I remixed a bit. most of the changes are the ending. i got rid of the fade out (as per rsorensen's advice) and now it ends with everything dropping out and the vocal ending the song with reverse reverb on it. is this better or more self indulgent?

I think the revisions work out great. it's not a self indulgent thing. I'm always into reverse effecting and i think the end effect came out great.
i guess this makes # 101?
excellent work bro

Perfect! great remix. and don't worry so much about being self indulgent. music should be if you're really feeling it, right? great tune.

first ... lyricss please?? missed the first version, and were probably there huh? ... don't get me wrong cos right now i can understand them ok if i'm not totally blown away by the musical dynamics ... just got the guitar crescendo ... killer ... alright this is silly ... gonna replay angain and comment properly ... so far 3/4 i guess .. is a wow!!

don't know what you tweaked from first mix overall but this mix is a definite spot on the mark. very cool flow ... percussion drives where it should ... and you are using your voice as an instrument .. very powerful and then that wall of sound!! ending is brilliant .... damn michael .. is cool indeed!

What an amazing track!!! Great vocals - kudos - and unique backing. Your arrangement is fantastic, a very cool choice of sounds. A masterpiece, bravo!!!

slurp slurp. If making songs this good means being self-indulgent then I'm going to join hedonist.com!

Backwards effects, I always like that. Remembered this 100. I'll have to dl and compare, but I remember the other one being so good.
Great job Michael,

peaceful vocals and piece. would be nice to hear the vocals the song seems romantic and uplifting.

excellent changes Michael - it's hard to think of the term "self-indulgent" associated with YOU!

love this! i think the ending works much better in this version. at the same time, tho, this comes across to me as sounding a little more like radiohead/thom yorke for whatever reason. but that's certainly not a bad thing. :)

There is both quality and quantity.....If you can't indulge yourself, how can you indulge anyone else. You're one of the most creative around this joint. Regards
... like everyone else, just great songwriting, both versions are fantastic!

... to visit a M2 song ... like Forest Gump's Chocolates .. you never know which treat you are gonna get .... I like the reverse reverb effect (now that I know what it is .. heh heh) ...

my favorite part is where it blows up with the drums and crashing guitars. exceptional track. ending is great

well, if you were, I don't think anyone minds...
but anyway, it turned out to be apropos. I always think the reverse reverb sounds like someone being born, and this being about your daughter, and how she in turn makes you come alive, it's fitting.
Again, I just want to say this is fantastic, the playfulness and indulgence with sound experimentation somehow express real emotion, however artificial the sound may be. that's why I'm a fan of bands like radiohead and experimental msuci, b/c they make human sounds out of machines. it's fascinating to me!
