Description:
This was one of my favorite first things I recorded back when I got Garageband in 2004, but I just now opened it back up in Logic and remixed it. The basic sounds are there, the organ and a flutey synth and bass loop part, and of course the guitar parts are all the real guitar I played through my amp. But I added a bit of Ultrabeat and tweaked the other drum part with an EZ Drummer kit. And added a cool sample of waves in Aruba. All effected mixed up with some great Logic effects! Back to the Beach!

Go for you for tackling one of your older ones. Sometimes we never get around to revisiting. Santana-ish chops.

Great job.

Sounds great, Jim... &mdash 04/21/08 - 10:54:51 PM
.I really like the sound....what's the amp and the pedal? Did you use a mic in front of the amp or plug it in directly?

What did you eat for breakfast this morning?

hmmm... &mdash 04/22/08 - 10:07:00 AM
I have changed setups so much that I can't quite remember this far back. I know I played my guitar through an amp and stuck a mic in front of it. I suspect on this I used a Mexican Fender Telecaster Custom '72 Reissue and played through a couple pedals, one of which was probably a Fulltone Fulldrive into a Peavey Classic 30 amp. I actually have since sold all this stuff so I don't quite recall the exact setup. I think I was playing pretty loud at the time. I did add a Guitar Pro Amp sim in Logic to further effect the sound and I duplicated the track and on some phrases there's a slight time shift to add a little delay.
I had Cheerios and strawberries for breakfast. Anything else?

Nice revisit Jim &mdash 04/22/08 - 09:13:13 PM
Really like the tone of the organ, but maybe the lead guit is a little loud for the other instrumentation, which kind of gets lost in the background (despite the very nice lead sound)?

Very nice groove though.

I could &mdash 04/26/08 - 01:00:01 PM
linger in the afterglow of this jam and those beach sounds forever. Getting in touch with your inner Carlos.
