Description
I orginally uploaded this song up a month or so ago, without taking the time to mix and master it completely, needless to say when I listened to it on a surround sound capable system the bass was to heavy and the voice needed more treble, I went back and rerecorded the vocals with a condenser mic, turned down the bass and pinched up the treble....This is the result

Lyrics
dont think of this as a goodbye, life after ours and all of the hours of our lives,
could not prepare us for the worst, fragmented promises and fabricated "I Love You's"

you say lets be friends, i dont think we will be friends ever again
you say you love me, you just arent quite in love with me.

the awkward silences were always louder than the way you ate that burnt meatloaf
you never made right.

the feeling of my heart exploding as you took your knife and cut it into thousand of pieces that would never fit tight

This isn't Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
This isn't Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

--but it is so long, so long as I never ever have to see you again for the next 20 years

--This song is revenge for the previous offense, flood gates are now closed steady our forces for attack

--head first into the fight, everything will be alright if you listen very close I'll lay it out so you know

--Please get your shit out of my place and then I want my Beatles and my Beach Boys and my Weezer CD's back

heh
aww, well thank you.

Its not that the first one is bad its just a little to bassy for my liking and I wanted to redo the vocals anyways so I figured I might as well remaster it as well.

You seem like a fun person and I hope to hear more from you in the future. I can already tell you will have fun being a part of this great Music community

Nice!
Great artwork! I didn't listen to the first version but this one sounds good to me. Beatles, Beach Boys, and Weezer. Those artists are all in my collection also. Great mixing/mastering on this. I really enjoyed the musical landscape you painted.

I haven't heard
the first mix but this seems OK - although I'm listening through some truly awful PC speakers at work that have no bass whatsoever. I normally listen to mixes on a variety of systems - the car is a good place to listen. See how it sounds 'tonally' against some 'good sounding' commercial CDs. I wouldn't get too worried by how much bass or treble but rather 'can I follow the bass line' or 'can I hear the words' etc... I'm not sure whay there's an 'explicit' warning! I didn't see any reason for it and it might put some people off listening (perhaps I'm so used to bad language at work I didn't even hear it).

Good post. It's obvious that you've spent a lot of time on it.

All the best
Peter

Thanks...
for all the great suggestions. I do plan on taking it in the car to listen too, I also plan on taking it to my parents house to their truly horrible PC speakers as the ultimate test seeing as half of America probably operate with default PC speakers like theirs.

It has the explicit tag because of one bad word, I know thats it's a minor dent in the fabric of all things explicit but i figure if this site has children I just wanted to forewarn people. I too am use to cursing like a sailor so I never know when I've crossed the line. I figure this way I don't have to think about it to much. It was never meant to scare anyone off. I'm such a crazed perfectionist that I will obsess over a mix for months, that is why I never record a lot of music and half the time I just give up and throw up what I have.

I was soooooooooo
going to mention a weezer-ish sound here!

I really like your music. I think this sounds great. Your vocal doubling with the whisper backing on the 2nd stanza is awesome. I cant believe that more people havent caught on to your songs yet, Im glad you posted in the forums:)

Listening in on my sennheiser bones and the only thing I could wager a guess that you may be wanting to add is something a little thicker in the midrange... which probably doesnt help seeing as you just got done mixing your bass and treble again :) I dont know, could just be me.. I think this is fine and tons of fun.. even your cute lil falsetto works with it:) I wouldnt change it much if at all.

good call
thanks for the suggestions I was actually pining over the mid range myself so good call, I might go back and boost them up a little on certain instruments. I also appreciate the positive review of the song. If i was someone else listening to my music I'd probably rip myself a new one ;)

...
sounds fine to me. i haven't heard the other version, but perhaps you turned the bass down a tad too much. over all sounds like a well put together song.

Love the sound FX on the Voc.
Great Lyrics, fits the genre. This sounds radio ready.
