Description:
I guess anyone that punches a clock can understand what this song's about. I've had my share of days waking up like this.

I am not a singer. Just a story I wanted to tell.

Thanks for listening.

Lyrics:
Woke up this morning
sweat on my face;
Light through the window
sun's out of place.

Light up at cigarette
and think to myself.
Hands dry and calloused
from the life I have led.

Look in the mirror now
what do I see?
Only a part of me
lookin' back at me.

Day's just beginnig,
soon it will end.
Repeat of yesterday
so I try to pretend.
Look at the years gone by,
they couldn't end.
Live in the past now.
A place to begin.

Look in the mirror
what do I see?
Only a part of me,
lookin' back at me.

Superb??? &mdash 04/21/08 - 03:03:43 PM
Thank you so much. I have to ask. Why do all the cats in the neighborhood come around when I sing? Only a joke, and thanks again. The story is what I wanted to tell.

never punched a clock but the wall does that count? a story i can relate to even though i'm only 20. nice melody playing. a nice feel to this track. you don't have to be a singer to make music just need to have something worth saying. reminds me of those nights alone when i pick up the guitar and don't have the strength to sing more then two notes but know i need to somehow let it out. the feeling is in the song perfectly

Wall's count &mdash 04/22/08 - 10:25:09 AM
It's not so much punching a clock. Just, sometimes you give it all you got and cant get anywhere. That's life at times, and it's all good.
Thanks for listening and thanks for your kind words. And stay away from walls. Years ago my right hand was in a cast for eight weeks. The wall won.
Take care, Russ

somehow im not surprised the wall won lol i just made my nuckles bleed quite a bit since it was the wall at school which had a rough wall instead of smooth stupid brick walls

A lesson learned &mdash 04/23/08 - 05:18:26 PM
for both of us. Now that I think about it I was about your age when I broke my hand, a little older, 23. Oh well, I have moved on to other ways to destroy my body,(kidding).
take care, Russ

Great &mdash 04/22/08 - 12:25:08 PM
The mix of acoustic plectrum playing and slightly distorted lead is fantastic. The acoustic sounds so clear it's like it's here in room. Have no worries about your singing - I really like your vocal style (and the lyrics). Let's have some more singing posts please.
Maybe you should fade the drums out at the end with the other tracks just to give it a smooth finish.
Thanks for posting - really enjoyed it.

The guitar clairity belongs to the guitar. I have owned many, but this guy I bought a couple years ago after playing it for about 15 minuits in the music store.Love at first sound. As for the singing there will be more, soon I hope. Thank you for your kind word's,, Oh ya . The fade at the end, my fault i thought ..well thats the problem.
Thanks again Russ

I like the lyrics on this a lot &mdash 04/22/08 - 09:06:37 PM
and I think the guitar works well on this too. It's one of those songs that evokes a whooe mood (heck, even a whole life!) and that's a paricular talent to be able to do that in a few words. I think yous vocal works very well on this too, capturing the world-weary vibe. Nicely done. Glad I stopped by. belated welcome to the neighborhood. Peace.

...some robby krieger influence by any chance? Very original, I just thought the lead had slight krieger ring. Nice vocals for not being a singer! Great one from the soul. Nice addition to MJ!

Very groovy man. I like the flow and the fun guitar lics and you voice is great. It's got character. The sound has a 70's feeling somewhat to it. Sounds like the words are every man and woman's situation in life at times. Good job on the song man....peace....jgv
