Description:
This was an impassioned political manifesto masquerading as a sing-a-long pop song. Or was it the other way around? Anyway, it appears to have had the desired effect and single handedly brought about regime change in Australia - despite almost universal indifference to its existence... stranger things happen!

ILoveVariousJoe - Vocals, Guitars, Plunky keyboards
ILoveVariousPeter - Harmonies
ILove VariousJeremy - Bass, Mandolin, Harmonies
ILoveVariousRingo - Drums

Lyrics:

Honest John, as if somebody dropped a bomb on you
From now on, there wouldn't be a lot you couldn't do
I lost my faith, I was ashamed, I was an alien

Business man, shallow waters over shaky ground
Propaganda - are we all collaborating now?
I lost my way, I'm on a boat down to Australia

Where they're ok, a little slow
Drive on the righteous side of the road
Down on the sand, I'm on the 'way back when'
Australia

Crooked plans, oh lest we forget our history
Shook our hands and showed us only work can set us free
Pack up my faith, lost on the way, it's a dangerous time in a wonderful place
I'm on that boat; I'm on that road outback Australia

Where they're ok, a little slow
Dangerous ride on an outback road
Time, welcome, change, my island home
It's a dangerous time to be righteous alone
But I miss my tan, I'm on the 'way back when'
Australia
Honest John

Channeling the 60s? &mdash 04/24/08 - 08:49:34 PM
I guess the world and especially Australia had got dragged back to the cold-war 50s so anything 60s was a step back to the future! Thanks Feter!

Nice one lads! &mdash 04/24/08 - 06:26:47 PM
I hadn't really listened to the words before Joe - very much nail on the head material! I sure am glad you wrote this or we'd still have the far right regime in place ;)

The lead vox and harmonies are just right and everything sounds the way it should - nice bass Jed. Nice plunking Joe.

Cheers,
Neil

I love music &mdash 04/25/08 - 02:06:15 PM
and your's is. It does have a 60's feel "Eve of Destruction"-ish, who ever sang that. Or Springsteen.

I really enjoyed this a lot.

I'll have to give you some plugs, you'll deserve it.

Nice one &mdash 04/26/08 - 04:09:45 PM
I love the guitar - it has a great, ringing quality to it. Lyrics are great, and the singing is very good, I think. The production is also solid - good drum sound, too. Good job on the regime change, too! Nicely done. Peace.
