Description:
A song about the unconscious.
This was radically changed from a previous song I posted earlier which I wasn't happy with.
Me appy now !
Lyrics:
Ride into the road and die
I can feel the light of diamond toes
Her eyes pride into the dark night
To all her woes
Glide into the sea and die
I can see the sound of ivory rows
Her mouth slides into a broad smile
To all the woes
Fly into the sky and die
I can hear the touch of ruby coals
Her skin melts into a downwind
With all her woes

The opening of this &mdash 04/27/08 - 05:48:48 PM
is terrific - dark and engaging. I love the bass sounds, and the vocal effect works well. Great sound overall; the voice sounds really good. The drums work very well, I think - not what I expected, and that's good! I like the imagery-rich lyrics, too. Well-arranged and performed. I can see why you're happy! Nicely done. Peace. Thanks for the comments &mdash 04/28/08 - 02:50:44 AM
I think I can still improve on the mix a bit, maybe through spacing or something. Any hints are very welcome. Anyway, I might give it a try. At least this time it will not be frustrating, but a lot more pleasurable. Thanks for stopping by. [ Reply to This ]

Cool sounds &mdash 04/29/08 - 06:09:45 AM
Ah, Trip Hop; my favorite genre! Actually, I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I know nothing about this genre, but I really enjoyed this. Trippy for sure, and I like the gritty sonic world you created. [ Reply to This ]
Ach genres ! &mdash 04/29/08 - 11:34:24 AM
Hi Clark,
I get confused with genres. I actually posted this under "Electropop" to start with, but I've got it from good authority that this is more "Trip Hop". It fits anyway: I am hopping mad, and tripping most of the time. Thanks for the visit.

Wow... &mdash 04/29/08 - 10:22:01 AM
...trip hop only says the half of it...and I don't know what the other half is...but it's n-i-i-i-i-c-e...
Very unique and original. Kudos...

Thank you Bob,
Funny you should say that, "niiice" is one of the presets I used on the BFD2 drums on this !

Love the experimenting going on here. The drums almost have that lazy Beatles vibe going on. It really adds a nice feel to the song. The lyrics really fit the music. Cool stuff [ Reply to This ]
semi-conscious reaction ... &mdash 05/08/08 - 02:07:58 PM
And here I thought we were suppose to die first - and then fly into the sky : >
This is a very trippy soundtrack that moves along at its own distinctive pace. I like what is here - yet I think there's is room to add more of those trippy sounds that go hopping through this spaced-out landscape.
Of course, the more I listen to it, the more I hear in it. [ Reply to This ]

quite a dark arrangement. Great words that you have created. Where is that image from? Cheers [ Reply to This ]
Kilpec &mdash 05/09/08 - 11:42:33 AM
The image comes from Kilpec in England. It's a Sheela Na Gigd (hence the title)

nice one &mdash 06/29/08 - 01:57:28 PM
very nice piece. like the landscape, the feel. clean production and tasty mix of plenty. the snare is maybe a bit too busy for this kind of song in my opinion, but maybe that's what you wanted... cheers [ Reply to This ]
