heard one from Slimgirl for a while. Really enjoyed your work. Love your voice. I like the groove and beat. I like the reverb, gives it that spacious feel. Great atmospheric feel here. I like the way your voice adds accents to the melody of this song. This is your genre and you do it very well.

Very cool &mdash 04/27/08 - 06:06:33 PM
I love the sound of your voice - just about says it all! Your singing is terrific here, and I like the effect on the vocal too. Nice beats, and a good sound on those keyboard chords, too. I like the percussion after the first break. I think it sounds good as it is. If I were to change anything, I'd add a different instrumental color after the second break - maybe some pads, something higher and brighter? But that's just me. This is very cool as is. Nicely done. Peace. [ Reply to This ]

I think yes, maybe it could have some chord change up or something, its pretty much the same all the way through. But still I am gad you like it as it is too:)

Chilled. I love this kind of vibe in a song, mission accomplished in my book. [ Reply to This ]

I'm no expert on this genre of music, but... I think you've established a nice solid groove here. What it may need, as has been noted previously, are some embellishments to give it a little more dynamic feeling. Instrumentally, for sure... vocal harmonies, maybe.
And I thought some sound clips of a man's voice would be appropriate in the context of the song.
I also found myself expecting to hear you break into some sort of double-time rap in here, but perhaps that's not kosher in this genre. Still, it seemed like it would make sense to me. ;)

Ty Joe :) &mdash 04/27/08 - 07:07:17 PM
Thankyou Joe,,
Funnily enough I read your comment and I've just tried out some harmonies to see how it could sound and it was a great idea so Thank you.. the rap stuff I dunno ... but maybe some male vocals on there as well could help the whole thing up a notch
and thanks for stopping by to listen :)

...what seem to me to be "signature sounds" on the keyboard block chords and the drums...
How are you doing the vocoder bit? Unless it's a trade secret...
Nice, sultry, just on the edge of raspy vocal tone that never slips flat...
I really like the bass pulse that comes in about halfway through, and the mini-percussion break...
I can hear what Joe says about the rap break idea... I know it may seem off the wall at first think, but there's a bit of this that reminds me just a eensie bit of a World Party tune that uses just that sort of double-time rap-ish break and it really works... [If you're curious enough to send me a note with an email, I'll send you an mp3 of the tune...if you want...]
I can also hear the possibility of something coming in higher... even a touch of triangle/chime or something... and I could hear a talented bassist a la Drew or Hectorious adding funk on the bottom...
Still, for something you're describing as rough around the edges, the "overall arrangement and feel" is remarkably together...
Good to hear you again,
Ed

Hi Ejh :) &mdash 04/29/08 - 03:31:59 PM
Th evocoder was just he autotune in GB, It was actually pretty hard to get right, and took a bit of tweaking to get the sound I was looking for. its up on the slider pretty high with some plugin stuff on too. I agree on having something more to fill out the music a bit.
I'll be experimenting!

super hot groove &mdash 04/28/08 - 11:12:17 AM
How nice to get a new song from you.
The songs builds perfectly. The grooves are put very well together so that it gets irresistible to get on the floor and move to the rhythm.
Catchy melody and words.
The auto-tune (vocoder) parts are cool, but may tend to stand in the way for your fab voice. If you lightened them up some I think it would be perfect. Just a tad fx so you notice it, but not so much hat it alters the great flow in your voice.
But a very good song:) [ Reply to This ]
Class act!! &mdash 04/29/08 - 01:45:21 AM
Great tune girl. Love the groove and beat of this track, it builds really well and the vocal is strong as always.
I love the vocoder effect in this track, but have to agree with thoddi it gets in the way a bit of your great voice.
Love the track, DL and Voted.

...run deep...
...there's a very strong pulse here, like a heartbeat...subtle and alluring...I love the feel and hesitate to make any suggestions on arrangement, as I like the overall feel so much...maybe a bit of tonal variation in spots...
...cool stuff...looking forward to the evolution... [ Reply to This ]
Yummm! &mdash 04/29/08 - 07:19:53 PM
And I love this tune!!!
Your voice sounds a bit warmer and just all around, a richer feel to it. You are somehow revealing more of a natural texture in this particular tune. Maybe it's what was meant to be, given the context. Maybe it's the ways of my ears today.
Dign' the electro perc action, too.
Groovy tune, Mizzz Slimmie!
Oh, I love...
Soooo..., can this be the one... Macca

Very nice vocal performance ... you sing it like you mean it. The vocal sits just right in the mix too. [ Reply to This ]
Fun! &mdash 05/22/08 - 01:21:48 PM
I like this one Slimmie. I like the subtle jazz influence in the vocal parts. The only suggestion I have is possibly back away from the mic a little on the intro lyrical parts when you hit the "I love." From the volume swell, it almost sounds like you are trying too hard to hit the note. Great tune and lots of coolness here. Sexy too. [ Reply to This ]
