Description:
This isn't the piece I was planning on posting today, but it just wouldn't leave me alone, so...

This is just a fun little tune in celebration of Spring - woohoo! Put it on the speakers and turn them up loud!

Have fun!

ps- this is just me learning how to use garageband - playing with panning and volume control and layering. I used a few loops - mostly in the percussion, the rest I pencilled straight in to GB.

Hardware:
macbook pro

Software:
garageband

Aha!
Now I understand where the name "Kassia" really comes from... you were hiding your obsessive affliction in your name... KaSsiA... KSA. You, and I, and Magnatone suffer from this, as do most people who start playing with GarageBand at first. Interestingly, the only way to be cured of KSA (Kitchen Sink Affliction) is to sign up with KSA (Kitchen Sinkers Anon.) Magnatone and I can take you to the next meeting, we go all the time (smirk). OK OK, I actually really like this, it is very toe-tapping infectious, and you are well on your way toward doing a nice build-up as it goes along. It is short enough that the drum-loops don't get toooo repetitive. And I love the harmonies that come in, great use of wacky instrumentation. For "just learning", you're doing wonderfully. Sounds like you have a good ear for panning instruments apart but maintaining balance (not putting all the bass instruments on one side, etc.) Thank you for sharing your early experiments... What fun! Now, where's the french horn recording? Perhaps that will be next? :-)

ttfn,
Drakonis

LOL!
KSA exactly! I'd love to join! Seriously, thanks for the great comment. I really was just testing myself on what I could figure out how to do in GB and started throwing all kinds of stuff in there. Glad you enjoyed - it was meant to be just a little piece of fun.

Don't listen to Drakonis. There is no KSA, and if there was, I certainly wouldn't belong there (LOL LOL). I think this is TERRIFIC! Great fun, great listen, very imaginative, hard to sit still and listen to - sign of a great song! GB better run for it's life!

I do believe
denial is the first stage. Ha! I won't tell anyone you've been going to the meetings. I believe it was you who told me that beginners always throw the whole thing in. Well - here's my beginning contribution! Glad you liked it - it was really fun to do. I was dancing all over the house as I listened over and over trying to fit all the pieces together.
