Just a little fun blues.

Macjam Blues

We make songs at Macjams, to send around the world,
Some say the songs are wonderful, other’s toes may curl.
Keeping people happy, makes ‘em come around,
But if your song don’t satisfy, they’ll run it to the ground.

On Friday night I posted, Feter was around….
The first one up to mark it.. gave me 10’s and and that was sound.
He always says such nice things, makes you feel so good,
That’s why people like him, ‘cause cause he acts like people should.

When Saturday cam,e on Macjams, I looked to find my song,
It wasn’t in the window, so I hadn’t got a gong,
Not enough had voted, I had 3’s instead of 4
The the comments kept on flowing and that was pleasin’ me more.

The song is a collaboration, played by two or more,
If it sounds like a sensation, fans ‘ll come knockin’ at the door,
Saying that it’s a good thing, fillin’ ‘em up with glee,
Commentin’ and Favin’, and that’s enough for me.

There’s just one thing that scares us, tho’ it might not come,
It’s when we think we’re doin’ well and then we get a ‘Bomb’,
It can blow you outa’ the window, so you’re no longer there,
And the other’s songs keep soarin’, takin’ the lion’s share.

The ‘Bomber’ is a weasel, so they raised the votin’ bar.
‘Doesn’t go half far enough, we need feathers and some tar,
Then we’ll all be happy, just performing songs,
Macjams is the best place, where we all belong.

Maurice, I'm so glad you you wrote and sang lyrics to this. You did a great job!! I love this and agree with every word. You are so versatile and can sing in any genre. Are you gonna do rock next for us? heehee
One tiny thing, Feter is pronounced Feeter, long E sound. (I asked him because I'd heard it pronounced 3 different ways and I had to know)
I'm keeping this song because it makes me smile. MacJams IS the best and people like you make it so.:-)

so much Roxy, that's a nice thing to say... it is a real community atmosphere here and it's nice that we can laugh at ourselves and with each other... makes life worth living. I've done 'rock' too.... it's Opera I don't have the range for LOL. As regards Feter's pronunciation I wouldn't have guessed it was pronounced that way, but it's nice of you to point it out...... now where's that bucket of tar??? Man...I used to go to these open mics when I first started playing out in my teen years...think this is bad? Whooheeeeee....talk about getting "bombed"...blasted off the stage is more like it...

Juggling act: you've gotta take off the armor when you're "going to battle" so you can really play with your heart...but it's gotta be handy to put back on in a hurry when the sharks start circling...gets easier over time, I guess.

Hi Maurice, I've being trying to get to your posts for ages but my browser would never load your page. Today I finally made it and have been able to listen (I loved "Home"). This is a great song and really sums up the MJ spirit. Great voice for the blues. I'll try and get to some of your other posts while the technology is working!

You're right that there's so much good music here and it really is a nice family community, so I'm glad you found me, I'll have to pay a return visit. It's just that there are so many new people at the moment that there aren't enough hours in the day to get round them all.
