Lyrics:
MADELEINE STOWE(c)2008 Boss Hook Music
With your cute dress and black boots on
You look so dangerous
I can be yours if you would be mine
Or we can be strangers
Madeleine Stowe
The lights are bright downtown
I can show you around if you want to
Or if you need to
Madeleine Stowe
You're so beautiful and bold
And I'm not some kind of wacko
I just want you to know
Madeleine Stowe
I've seen your films and that's not all
You look so generous
I can play this game with you all night long
Or I can be anonymous
Madeleine Stowe
The lights are bright downtown
I can show you around if you want to
Or if you need to
Madeleine Stowe
You're so beautiful and bold
And I'm not some kind of wacko
I just want you to know
Madeleine Stowe

Interesting tune, John.
I especially liked the temporary modulation up to Eb at the end of the choruses. This tune could have turned out very dark, but you managed to keep it in check, musically.
Well-performed and recorded, my friend. ;)

much Michael, I had fun doing it. Truth be told, I really don't have any obsession about Ms. Stowe. I think she is beautiful and probably a nice person. Last week when I was writing the tune I was using a made-up name Madeleine Poe, just phonoetically for the melody (kinda like McCartney using 'scrambled eggs' for Yesterday). Because I did not want to cause any confusion with the haunted Edgar Allen Poe (who I am a fanatic about also) I changed to Madeleine Stowe - maybe someday she will hear the tune.
...hear it. It's a nice tribute John!

Boss, what a great song. I love the concept, lyrics and the production is outstanding. This sounds absolutely crushing with my headphones on. The progression is excellent. If Maddie doesn't personally call you to say thx I'd be dissapointed.

I am glad you dig the guitar sound, I like the wall of guitar sound.

Wow... very catchy chorus, wide open guitar sound, clever lyrics, your singing suits the melody perfectly. Funky organ gliss at the end. I wish I had written this; "You're so beautiful and bold/And I'm not some kind of wacko," indeed. I tip my hat to you, sir,

Your vocals are really great on this one Boss. They seem very free and easy which fits the tune so well. It's really the first thing I noticed. Nothing was forced. Cool hook and I love the chord change at the end of the chorus that gets you back into the verse. Your playing is great as usual and the mix is great. See you soon...I think spring is finally here in this town!!!
