Description:
My attempt at singing blues style to Feter's House off Blues track. I sang it in one take and made up the words as I went along. Oh- and I penciled in a bass track. My apologies to Feter for singing over his guitar solo. (he graciously said he doesn't mind) :-)
Warning: This is about the Lord and contains the "J" word, for those who don't want to hear me singin' about God.:-)

Always nice when you stretch yourself by improvising lyrics, right? It's great therapy and good exercise. Keep it up.
Roxylee
So good to see you in here. Thanks, man. :-)

EXPLICIT LYRICS. Lawsy!!
You have a lot of courage to tackle a number like this (or any other, for that matter) just straight out of the shoot. I think it came off very nicely. (And "J" is, no doubt, proud of you, too.)
Peace.

I am what I am, and I can't be a closet Christian. Jesus is my life, and I want to sing about what I really feel, like everyone else who feels strongly about something. I suppose that is brave.. letting your deep feelings out in front of everyone. Sure, I could speak in less direct ways, but I really like to know and to be known, so here it is. I'm sure some people won't like it and others won't listen to it, but that's OK. I'm glad toy stopped by and that you liked it.:-)

What a great bit of work! Love Feter's guitar, and love your pencilled in bass-line... but... you did WHAT? You MADE UP the lyrics as you sang? As always a lovely voice, but you MADE UP the lyrics? Sheesh, what a talented lady you are, excellent. And hey... you're recording again? Did your long-awaited replacement Saffire box show up today? Life's looking up... somebody's looking after you I think (smile).

Actually, I used the USB mic and tweaked it as best I could in GB. I'm expecting the delivery truck any second now... (eternally optimist that I am) Thank you so much, Eduard. :-) For some reason, I can make up words as I go along to this style; it relaxes me and it flows.I love hearing this one with funny words, sad words, crazy words, all so much fun to hear! Feter's ideas in here spark a lot of creativity in here lately.:-)

You have a voice for the blues, for sure. And that bass line had a great groove for a pencil.
Good stuff!
Roxylee
This encourages me to sing more blues. :-)
Your work is fantastic as always! I dig that bass sound!
Your vocals.... really fit the atmosphere. Thanks for sharing!

I just sat here with Gb open and sang as I went; just a spontaneous take.. I needed to get offline quick, but i wanted to take part in the House of Blues. I'll keep you in mind when I actually have time to compose a song. It's so nice when someone else does the notes. <G>

I want to hear what your heart is willing to produce. And....can I help? Ready to collab Roxy. I most definitely owe you one. Terry

Roxylee, I like the straight, soulful feel of this tune. Real honest, and that's something no one can fake. The bass-guitar-vocal arrangement is perfect and sparse.

I felt you should have really let some of those notes fly and belted them out, but then there are the neighbors to think about!
Fine work, nonetheless,

I really appreciate your comments about the bass- it took me awhile to pencil it in. Thanks to Feter for suggesting I put bass in this. I will try to sing more freely next time, and thank you for pointing out that I was holding back some. I think it was due to my thinking up the words instantly and having to concentrate on that, instead of the notes. I'll have to try another bluesy number and write down the words. I'm glad you enjoyed this. :-)

This track rocks from the soul - one take is all it takes. Great work on the bass too.
Roxylee
Thank you so much for appreciating the effort of the bass and the vocal message. It was so good to be a part of the WS Hymn with you and the guys. :-)

I knew if I sat here and tried to write lyrics to this, they would come out stilted, so I went with the flow and just felt it. I am so glad you got so much enjoyment out of it, David, and thank you for commenting. :-)

It sounds very authentic and torn

I was tired of being torn, and decided to stop feeling that way.
