RE: Very nice Thanks! I appreciate that! Not _quite_ a toy at it's cost, though. :) It's actually a midi wind controller. I bought it a few years back on ebay for about $600 when they were retailing ~$1500. Now they're down to about $950 new with sound module and controller. Pretty specialized instrument, though. You won't find too many people playing them. Check out my latest song called There Will Never Be Another You

RE: Very nice I know :{) I was entertaining the idea of getting a YAMAHA one, still drooling over. GB, however, doesn't recognize the blow intensity in MIDI mode, does it? --- iLYA Check out my latest song called Le Rêve De Solange

RE: Very nice Ooops. I answered before I knew you played sax. :-/ I apologize. Most laypeople have no idea what the EWI is so I always find myself trying to explain. If they haven't seen it, it's hard to describe. Actually, I have no idea if GarageBand recognizes blow intensity with the Yamaha because I just used the controller live with its own synth module. I just used GB as the recorder. I used to have a Yamaha WX-7 YEARS ago, and eventually got rid of it for the Akai EWI. IIRC, I think it can map out the volume from the breath controller to volume and breath controller messages. The one thing I will say, though, is that it's advantageous to make sure that you get a sound module that supports the breath control messages. Sometimes just controlling it through volume messages doesn't necessarily give the best results.. a lot of keyboard samples have built in reverb in them and changing the volume on them via the breath controller results in the reverb on the sample getting cut out suddenly as it drops off and it ends up sounding a little weird. The best samples (IMO) are ones that have no effects on them whatsoever, THEN postprocess them with effects. Check out my latest song called There Will Never Be Another You

Nice EWI Wow, your playing is so fun and light, at smiles all over. Nice colors, could have kept playing and playing. Very enjoyable. The best aspects of frivolity. I hope you do more! Check out my latest song called Forge A New Life (MJRF)

Sublime Love it .. more stuff? Without meaning to be rude - to me this jolly little music piece reminds me of the incidental music they used to use in those 70's children pedagogist learning shows - you know, when they cut to some non- studio footage with some kids doing something outdoors ... Playing is phenomenal! Check out my latest song called Misplaced

Sublime Aw hell, you're far from being rude. As a matter of fact, I really appreciate your kind comments. Thank you. :-) Frivolity at the time served the purpose of being my first tune ever two years ago... I was mucking around with GarageBand and my EWI on my G3 800mhz ibook, a machine woefully unsuited for not much more than what I presented here. The point of reposting this is really an attempt to signify my committment to be around on MacJams a lot more from now on. I hope you'll enjoy what I put out here. :-) Check out my latest song called There Will Never Be Another You

You make that hmm... toy instrument sound very
convincing. Good phrasing, very stylish. Keep jamming!
