Description:
My interpretation of Axegrinders very cool piece Flexinit. I have remixed my previous submission and I thank all of you who took the time to post a comment before.

The original and unblemished version can be found here:

This is a "rule" breaking bed of strangeness that Alvin put up on here for everyone who isinterested in laying anything on top of this for sh*ts & giggles! (Caution: use of loopage!) There's some great parts to this ..... really grabbed my cobber..... Anyhow, I gave it a spanking, layed down the guitar tracks on this version and had a blast with the sound bed I do however get a little out there but I make no apologies.
Thanks to Alvin ( Axegrinder ), he such a good guitar player & I was a little reluctant to share what I have done, as I was very concerned that I would be shamed. But after a few pints of Kilkenny I lost my inhibitions....
Norman Goodman - Guitar
Axegrinder ( Alvin ) - Everything else ie. songbed, all other instrumentation, song concept, composition etc.

Thanks for letting me play on this bro!

a keeper &mdash 05/01/08 - 09:05:59 PM
your guitars are much more up front. and the whole thing seems sonically intense. if that make sense.

My God &mdash 05/02/08 - 01:21:57 PM
This is unbelievable.
Your use of diminished arpeggios is masterful. I love the lyrical phrasing. There is a great deal of depth in what you play and I am particularly impressed with your manipulation of modal harmonic minor phrasings.
I heard the original and you have added a great deal of color, really compliments the song.

On a personal note I see you list Iceland as where you are from, but you bear an uncanny resemblance to a Norm Goodman from Canada ( sweep picking, wide vibrato and that tone ). You don`t list who you used to play with, let me know if this is you ( IM if you prefer ). I`ll assume you probably like to keep a low profile.

I feel like Steve Martin... &mdash 05/03/08 - 10:38:08 PM
who electrocutes himself on the microphone stand, and can't wait to grab it again. This knocked me down. Do it again! Terry.

Fantastic guitar playing man. What extreme creativity you show, and ditto competence on your axe. Cool Zeppelin'ish screams and sounds.

I'll rush and put myself as a fan!

Great job!

Unrestrained wild guitar excitement. Parts of this remind me of Phil Manzanera, but then you completely let loose with cool original improv.

Axe's complex bed is excellent, but very challenging, a lesser player than you (or Axe himself) could not have pulled this off with this kind of energy. Great stuff!

Thanks
Bill

Nice job brother! &mdash 05/04/08 - 11:22:58 PM
I think we should do this more often, what do you think? I knew you would lay something dark and sinister over top of this whacked out number! Frankly..... I don't think I could possibly touch what you have done. you truly rock my man.....

That's pretty incredible, Norman and Alvin. Now...that's not the Strat, is it, Norman? Pretty steep dives in there.

Man...this rocks, guys...congrats!

I don't really have words for this. It's mind blowing, and amazing, and defies logic. Incredible!
