Description:
I'm thrilled to upload this new take on my song 'stay with me'. I've been enchanted by this talented young lady from the moment she signed up on MJ. What a lush to hear her sing on my minimalistic piano track. Less is more. Proven again. Sit back, relax and listen to one of the most remarkable voices on MJ.

Lyrics by EstellaThe letters crumble
and little lines
follow you around
parts of E's and A's.
So stay with me
so the world won't come apart,
so the words return.

You're the man Walter...Very generous to share one of your greatest tracks with estella.
She does a very nice job interpreting this little gem. Kudos to you both!

It is in a gorgeous voice, Walter, and suits the noir moodiness of this song perfectly.
Only quibble I have is that the occasional word hard to understand (or easy to misinterpret) unless you're looking at the printed lyrics. Some examples: "Letters" is mostly fine, but the first syllable sounds a bit like a cross between an "e" and an "u", so what I was hearing was something like "Leutters"; the "parts of E's and A's" line is a very unusual line (but obviously essential in the poetry!), but I couldn't make it out without reading the lyrics -- I was hearing something like "pawsa easanaise"; and it was difficult to hear a "t" in "stay".
This is really just a small quibble; nothing major, and it doesn't take away anything from the overall dark sultriness of Estrella's voice, which is a perfect match for the song.
I also like the way the voice comes in so quickly; it grabs you right away. It feels to me like the song wants to go on a bit longer, perhaps with a saxophone solo, and an upright bass would certainly fit in nicely here too. But it works perfectly well as a brief vignette, in which case I'm wondering if this might be part of a series, like "Five Glimpses of You" or something like that? ;>)

Walter,
I share your feelings about estellie's voice. Her style is proving to be broader than I originally thought.
Estellie, beautiful poetry and another stellar performance.
I can't wait to hear your punk version of this song for the CBGB Demo. What?
estellie
tempting.

beautiful... And I agree with all, Estella is very talented, once again another new proof with this so nice vocal on your song, I believe that I could listen to her ceaselessly...
Excellent collab Walter, not only you too are talented, but furthermore you are a man of taste.
Minimalistic track but great and impressive piece !
Thanks you two...

wonderful to hear Estella on one of your tunes Walter.
If I remember right (or wrong) these are going in as lead-ins to other songs?
Alannah
... I've been waiting to hear the different "takes" on this number .... this one is FAB .... I still say you should put them all together somehow ... with some form of bridge to blend them ! Great VOX Estellie

I've been wanting to try this for a while now, and wow it was a pleasure to work with this complex and tightly woven (however brief it is) composition.
To be on Walter's page is such an honor for me! Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
And Walter, maybe someday, a duet!
lavalamp
Sweetly sung. Simply beautiful.
Very, very nice.

Feter, Skean, Thor, David, Len, Michael, Marco, Clark, Bob, Marc, Vic and David: thanks so very much for lending your ear. Sorry that I don't counter-comment to each of you personally this time... A lot of things happening and eating my time here (but in a good way)...
Alannah, I will upload the stitched version in a couple of days, although I foresee to put the 3 tracks all separately on my album as a 'fil rouge'. But it sounds great as one song as well:-)
Estella, just like with Alannah's version, I think I already listened about fifty times. It's so damned beautiful. A duet? Sure, one day, with much love and pleasure:-)
Thank you both, great ladies. I'm a very lucky man and the honour is all mine.

Stella, your voice here is simply astounding!
I like Walt doing this, but you've taken it to a different place altogether. Could be a lot longer, and a sax.bass. piano, drums jazz quartet in late night club would fit the bill perfectly.
Great little song Walt ...... beautifully sung Stella.
Always knew you were going to be a MJ star!

Brilliant. She has an amazing voice. I like the "happy sound" at the end. The piece is interesting ... after 2 passes. Like you said, less is more.
Great...
