Description:
a greenpeace rhumba.
Lyrics:
Gordon's Little Zero Carbon Homes.
written by Woofer3.
Chorus.
Gordon's little zero carbon homes-
They don't use anything but light,
And everything they do is right,
You'll find it so hard to believe-
That if you turn your tv down,
You'll save a flower not a town-
You'll bring a smile and save the world.
Verse 1
He's going to point us to the light,
We know that Gordon's always right,
Who's gonna pay for it -
Who'll run away from it.
Who'll put a tax on it,- Who'll make a stack on it?
Industry has left it's mark our leaders goof again.
Don't even think of it and everything'll be alright.
Verse 2.
He says he wants us to be green.
We wanna be in Gordon's team.
Throw out the radio, turn off the stereo,
Cut back the video don't be adagio.
Airlines belching carbon in the atmosphere each day
Don't be afraid of it and everything will be alright.
- Repeat Chorus-
- break -
- Repeat Chorus -
Verse 3.
He's gonna tell us what to do,
We know he'll always get us through,
Greenhouse reality, global insanity.
It's all coming back down to carbon fatality,
Airlines belching fumes into the atmosphere each day,
Don't be afraid of it and everything will be alright.

I could have sworn I responded to this but how can it be - it's not 'ere is it !!
Anyway better late than never and thank you for commenting on my little song, - I just can't resist politicians, they have a target right in the middle of their foreheads and to be honest I'm a rotten shot at the best of times.
Thanks Dee,

Hi Feter &mdash 05/03/08 - 03:23:50 AM
thanks for the comments. I think I'm stuck in the 70's particularly the early to mid 70's which was probably my favourite period, though oddly enough I never listened very much to Paul McCartney for some reason but there was so much to listen to at that time.
Thank you for listening,
Best wishes,
John [ Reply to This ]
I agree &mdash 05/03/08 - 05:24:18 AM
with Feter - definite beatles feel. This is such a well written and performed song - love the vocals/harmonies. I know I always say your songs are catchy, but they really are.
Gordon's taken a bit of a hammering - poor Gordon.
Absolutely love this John - great production too!
Cheers
Len

Hi there Len - &mdash 05/03/08 - 09:32:30 AM
thanks for dropping in, - Yep poor Gordon has had a bit of a mauling of late, can't help thinking that if the truth were known our Tony is quietly enjoying it all.
I'm glad you think the production is, - well not too bad anyway. Thank you for that, as I said I am taking a bit more care these days. Thanks also for your kind remarks about the song. I remember seeing the phrase in a newspaper and thinking - I wonder if I could write a song with a title like that, and that's how it came about.
Best wishes,
John. [ Reply to This ]
Loved the lyrics &mdash 05/03/08 - 12:36:35 PM
and the harmonies are excellent.
Really well put together. I like the concept and the execution is wonderful.
And didn't he get a stuffing on Thursday.
If people think Labour are bad now wait until the Tories get back in.
Cheers

Thanks Dick- &mdash 05/03/08 - 04:49:30 PM
glad you like it. I'm not really surprised at the election results whichever way you look at it politics is show bizz and our Gordon is not show bizz material. I'm going to write a song for him when he becomes prime minister......oh I forgot, - he already is isn't he.
Thanks again Dick,

Thank you Helen, &mdash 05/04/08 - 12:17:36 PM
Excellent &mdash 05/05/08 - 07:04:38 AM
Great stuff! The message is spot on, well expressed in the lyrics and musically very enjoyable.
And talking of messages, what is it with NooLabour that they think a pasting in the elections means that they're not getting their message through clearly enough to the people? We get their poxy message loud and clear and we don't like it!
Yeah Gordy, let's plaster the greenbelt with 3 million ugly little brick boxes and as long as they've got a solar panel on them it won't do any harm. What a tosser. [ Reply to This ]

thou art sharper than a viper's tooth, however it's nice to see someone wield the sword of discontent now and again. We are surrounded by apathy, indifference and good old fashioned complacency.
Thank you for listening and your comments are much appreciated.

Poor Gordon &mdash 05/05/08 - 03:06:58 PM
Sounds like Mr. Brown is having a rough time as PM. Well, as Oscar Wilde said, be careful for what you ask, you may get it.
On to the song. I really like the melody and vocal harmony as well as the production. Another tight and bright one from the woofer.

It hasn't been Gordon's week &mdash 05/05/08 - 04:40:48 PM
mind you having said that this is not the first time it hasn't been Gordon's week.
A friend of mine called me scathing for writing this, -darn cheek. a bit hurtful I thought as well.
Thank you for your kind words about this Tim, just another dig at the system, -well what else can I do?

Now that we have a PM with a double syllable name in Oz, there should be many more possibilities for songs - great lyrics, Beatlesque moments, and the cheesy rhumba works just perfectly.
Vocals really good - top post!
Neil [ Reply to This ]
thank you Neil, &mdash 05/06/08 - 06:59:30 AM
yes, poor old Gordon, - as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip.

Great &mdash 05/07/08 - 12:40:47 AM
The Tory's new campaign theme! Great Bowie-ish vocal, really ace lyrics and a tune for catchy it should be banned . Excellent!

Wow &mdash 05/08/08 - 11:07:31 PM
thanks for listening &mdash 05/18/08 - 04:35:31 AM
- well I suppose we must be a bit sympathetic after those "nail biting" election results. It's just such a farce - we have so many more pressing issues and he's concentrating on things like canabis !!!!! -
Best wishes ,
John.
