.. how ironic ... if you were listening in the chat room topic at the moment ... heh heh ..... but with that "flair" of days gone past .... I remember this sound .... earlier 80's ???? Boppin in spandex pants and Black and White running shoes (we called them Fleetmaster runners) .....

1995 COOL &mdash 05/03/08 - 05:21:58 AM
Nice submission. Love the 4-track sound. Great job. Put CBGB next to the title, so they'll add it to the list.

Great stuff,
LL

Love those long chords at around 2:00 - a nice way to lead into the wrap up. Cool!

I really loved this one kids.

By the way, as we were all standing around the flyers that Bud had just posted up to the wall in the MPD, someone pointed out what a great shirt your Super 8 flyer would make. We all agreed it would be a great shirt.

Jim, was that you that said that?

what a great line in a pop song. Love this track - love the book too.I really like the cruising feel of the music in the verses - very smart.

Sounds perfect. This is perfect for the venue, for the time, for the spirit of the whole damn thing! The sound is excellent - truly authentic. Very nicely done. Peace.

great reverb effects &mdash 05/04/08 - 10:47:34 PM
on the music, and lack thereof in the vocals. indicitive of early 80's reverb units and a 4-track. this one sounds so authentic it hurts... i love it!
great hook. another rhythm, or similar modernization, it would sell now...good lyrics never die, they age gracefully.
great post!

Poor little corduroy &mdash 05/05/08 - 02:17:34 AM
Been reading Rip it Up and Start again, about post punk 1978 - 1984, and i'm downloading Wire, Gang of Four, all this stuff i meant to listen to and never got round to.

This is ace, and really catchy - nice dark guitar and great vocal melodies - glad you let this one out for a walk.

Thanks Steve &mdash 05/05/08 - 11:47:59 PM
You know, by coincidence I picked that book here in Arizona for 50c recently. It was pretty cool to go over those musical history landmarks and realise that I was a part of that (albiet in a small way) from the vantage point of my life here in Arizona now.

Kind of makes you think....

Yeah Yeah Yeah &mdash 05/05/08 - 08:19:23 AM
...I swear I'm back in the basement with my early-eighties music buds... this is absolutely real, the very blood of why we pick up an electric guitar. Excellent ride... been there, done that and damn, it was priceless then and priceless now. Thanks!
