After hearing Alf's version, I had to come back and listen to this. A really good vocal performance, very nice production and a classy overall track. While I prefer the version with Alf's additions, this is still very good indeed, and I can see why Alf was so keen to "mess about" with it.

and that is encouraging. I came here from Dee's mix. This is more strident and therefore, more forceful. A most unusual resonance in the vocal makes your voice sound pained. But the heartbeats enforce that life continues through grief, through pain and... with purpose.
