doris hitchcock and the x (1)
Description:
I wanted to do a one take acoustic track and this is it. It travels along at 75 B.P.M. and I invite any of you good folk who feel so inclined to put your touch on it.

Lyrics:
From the Tiergarten in Germany
To the River Duck in Tennessee
The grass is green wherever it grows
The highs so high the lows so low
Meet me at the river in the Ferry Meadows

The mighty fall the small get small
Till there's no more writing no more wall
All on aboard that whistle blows
We're going on down where the poppy grows

Where the sun never sets
And the wind no longer blows
Meet me at the Ferry Meadows

Money comes and money goes
Like love and anger those concepts grow and grow
When the sun no longer shines and the wind no longer blows
You can meet me at the Ferry Meadows

Hardware:
Crafter acoustic

To see if I'd played to a fairly accurate 75 bpm I picked a drum loop at random - it was Club Beat 23 on GB3 it sounded rather good I might even post it. I hope you are in fine form and I'm looking forward to your new tune.

The red poppies grow wild in the Ferry Meadows. A hundred years ago if you visited a pub in my vicinity they'd put an opiate based pill in your first pint to give it that extra buzz and secure your custom - happy days huh? Go on Michael give the auld Ferry Meadows your golden touch.

I agree with Michael - not sure what I could add &mdash 05/05/08 - 07:39:00 PM
but I sure do like it as it is. Perhaps I'll give it a go though. Would you mind posting the chords?

That's the ticket Bud! &mdash 05/06/08 - 07:44:45 PM
Good man - I'd be delighted to chord post for you Bud - it goes

E A6
From the Tiergarten in Germany
E A6
To the River Duck in Tennessee
E A6
The grass is green wherever it grows
E A6
The highs so high the lows so low
Fsharp minor(EBass) C E
Meet me at the river in the Ferry Meadows

That's it roughly ,the C chord is some kinda variation I made up and I guess it's got a technical name but if your gonna have a crack (which I hope you do) then I leave it to your impeccable instinct as to arriving at the appropriate sound. Oh yeah the bridge is just E to A then G then A then E...wow. Be lucky boss.

BPJ unplugged! &mdash 05/05/08 - 11:30:06 PM
Another subtle ending ;) Like the others, I can't see what else would help here - it's a very tasty short acoustic number that WORKS as is.

Even though there's hardly any production it's unmistakable BPJ. Your style shines through.

... what he said, this is pretty much complete as is. Anything I could think to do to this would just pollute it.

Cool choon.

The fx you have on the guitar sounds pretty rock'n roll. Your singing reminds me a bit of Tom Petty here...

Good song, warm words.
