Description:
This is the very first song I did on GarageBand. I laid down a bass track and a drum, and started humming. I hit the record button and just improvised a song -- didn't have any lyrics or idea of what I was going to sing, so I made up the words and melody as I went along. When I listened to it, I decided to try again. I muted the vocal track and vamped away for a second time. Just for kicks, I listened to the two vocal tracks together and realized that they blended rather nicely for all my fooling around. So I kept them both without changing a thing. Just an exercise in improvisation, really.
Lyrics:
I never wrote down any lyrics.

eMac & pinhole mic

Very, I am serious. I've heard professionals who could
never do that. You have a dead-on ear for style and
articulation. I hope I am making sense. It's too early in a
morning :{) [ Reply to This ]

I have to take back the remark implying that you are not a professional, for I
googled you up. However, the style and all the rest is still true. You have an
amazing quality in your voice; I could listen to you just speak, I think (I am
not hitting on you, just trying to prepare ground for convinsing you to invest
in a decent microphone, so we could collaborate on some songs in a future :)

Don't worry, iG, I've never done anything professional when it comes to music
or singing (hence my dependance on loops). Can't play any instruments well
at all. As for a microphone, I actually do have one, from my voice-over days,
but I don't know how to hook it up to the computer, and the pinhole mic is so
convenient. Just sing at the Mac and voila! A song! (This makes me sound so
lazy, but truth is, I'm afraid of doing something wrong and blowing out the
Mac because my mic isn't the right kind or something). [ Reply to This ]

The pinhole setup seems to work fine, however... To insure the consistency of
your sound: never move furniture in the room, tape your chair to the floor in
the exact position where it is right now, and only record between 3 and 4 am,
when the ambient noices are minimal. It would be a shame to compromize
the quality of what we heard so far. :{)
Keep up the good work, it might be more serious than you think :{)
