Better Still Music and Lyrics by: Sean C. O’Malley © 2008
Better still / try to imagine a way/ that we can meet again
There’s a song / on my horizon It’s okay / to muddle thru this day
It’s going to be / Impossible for me
To give the kind of love that you give So…
CHORUS
I will refrain / from coming back here again
I will be / the one who will retrieve
The love that stalled / the thoughts we will recall
Hold on / won’t be long
Tell yourself / that you got help
So you, me / we’ll shake this tree
But still keep it in the ground
Another day / that I walk in to the flame / lucky if I’m seen again
Trust yourself/ to get through what you can / when you do you’ll understand
It’s going to be / Impossible for me
To give the kind of love you give through and through

This is a great sound you have going here. A real 70s vibe and yet very contemporary. Excellent production (and if this is just the raw version..?! Sheesh!)
I'm really impressed by your vocal performance (esp the ooh ooh harmonies). I am picking up on a Rush sound and that is not an easy thing to do. Complex but straight-forward, big but subtle - there's a whole ying/yang going on here and that is why I like it.
Guitar work is outstanding - loads of attitude and expertly played; I genuinely like your style.
Well done. Downloaded and onto iPod.

Not until I started laying the vocals down did I hear Rush as well. It is so funny that you heard the same thing I did, it's got to be the guitar picking during the chorus. I am most like going to go for a melodic lead for the intro but can't find it yet. I should come to me soon...I hope. Thanks for you your kind words and I look forward to hearing some of your new stuff as well. Cheers.

It is so absorbing that it doesn't feel almost 5 minutes long (1 second off it).
Always a good sign when a great song flies by and you don't notice the length.
Jim
Great vocal delivery and fine guitar playing. This is a true great piece, Kudos for your work. Enjoyed every second!

SALESMAN! Today's Tom Sawyer a mean, mean warrior! LOL.
I really dig the passionate vocal and the guitar layering and lick does give it a bit of 70's power rock.

Got those old "Healer" feelings from this second time through here. Very REM and juicy guitars. I am all over those drums too - If there's a frustrated bass player buried in my soul, there's definitely a drummer in disguise under your robe.
Remark80
I want to be your drummer. I say we start a band with me playing drums. What do you think?
pablatone
Sorry you got bombed. I gave it tens to help even it out.
With that said though, I don't think it's the best mix, it's kind of muddy.
But it's a very good song and worth any effort you want to put into it.
