Description:
Finding something you didn't know was there.
Lyrics:
In My Heart
You hung your paintings on my wall
You hung your paintings on my wall
Landscapes and still lives
Portaits all recalled.
You hung your paintings on my wall
You put your lipstick on my heart
You put your lipstick on my heart
Brushwork a smudged print
Lingered after dark.
You put your lipstick on my heart
Never knew that you cared
Never knew you were there
Never knew that you cared
In my heart
Your eyes marked the moment we met
Your eyes marked the moment we met
Champaign and velvet tears
Lit by candlelight
Your eyes marked the moment we met
Never knew that you cared
Never knew you were there
Never knew that you cared
In my heart

What a terrific ballad. Love the lyrics, well expressed by your vocals. And your guitar playing here is just exactly right for the lovely song. I love your stuff - thanks! [ Reply to This ]

I'm glad you liked the song. It took me quite awhile to get it done, but there it is. It probably could be remixed with a little less drums in some spots.
Anyway, thanks for coming by and commenting. It is always good to hear from you. [ Reply to This ]

the vocal on this. Your singing is heartfelt, expressive, pained, dripping with experience. Your lyrics are really nice - some terrific evocative images that will stay with anyone who listens to this. Nice acoustic guitar sound and playing, and that electric sound is nicely clear and clean. Great song. Very nicely done. Peace. [ Reply to This ]
Mucho Gracias &mdash 05/14/08 - 12:18:09 AM
For the electric guitars I used a Boss GT-3 Guitar Processor for the tones. The acoustic guitar is a Larrivee 12-String plugged straight into the board. I think I played an G&L ASAT for the lead and I forgot what I used on the vibrato guitar.
I played the drums on my trusty Roland JW-50 Workstation. Maybe too much information.
Thanks so much for your comments. I'm glad you liked the song. [ Reply to This ]

In my heart I feel this is an &mdash 05/16/08 - 05:14:09 AM
excellent song. reminded me a lot of Paul McCartney, -even the sound of the voice. I did feel the drums were a little too up front though. Care has been taken in the writing and it shows. I think my favourite song of yours up to now.

Bow-Wow to Woofer &mdash 05/16/08 - 06:09:28 AM
Thanks for coming by and listening. I'm glad you liked it.
This song was a bit of an homage to George Harrison. His last album was "Brainwashed" and I wrote this song after listening to that album quite a bit.
The odd thing is that I mixed the song in the digital Portastudio and when I brought it to the computer the drums were louder than what they appeared to be. The bass was much fuller too, which I liked.
Anyway, live and learn at the mixing board. I could go back and redo the drums, but that'll take another two or three months. Time flies when you're having fun. Another thought would be to send it to you and let you remix it. I know how much you like doing that chore.
Thanks again, John. [ Reply to This ]
