Description:
This is a song I wrote a few weeks ago, and recently recorded. Its not a perfect version and I can't sing at all, but I think it makes a decent demo. Please forgive my terrible vocals.
The instrumentals included my Yamaha Keyboard and an Acoustic guitar, along with synth drums from the keyboard. The mix could have been better, I haven't mastered recording chords on the acoustic yet but its alright. I'm very interested in what people perceive as the message behind this song, and how they interpret its meaning.
Any constructive criticism on improvement or execution is appreciated.
Thanks for listening, Enjoy.

Lyrics:
I know there's nothing more
I've seen it all before
We'll never be again
So this is how it ends
I'm sorry

I wish I had a reason to be angry
I wish I had a reason to be strong
I wish I had a choice but I'm demanded
You were right and I was wrong

I'm sorry

You say there's nothing more
Like you've seen it all before
But Someday we'll be again
This can't be how it ends
I'm sorry
Don't be Sorry

I may not have a reason to be angry
It may not all be right, but its not wrong
I may not have a choice but I'm still happy
You were right and I wrong

This is a great little tune. Definitely worth keeping and fleshing out. It's a beautiful melody. Drums a little too loud - like you said, needs a remix, add some sweet harmonies in there. But it's a really nice sound man, nice chord choices.

nice song &mdash 05/19/08 - 09:31:37 PM
I enjoyed this. You did a great job writing and performing it. Simple and sincere! If I had a complaint it would only be that I don't think the drums and cymbals sounded quite right. I think the piano all alone on this one would work best. But hey, what do I know? Thanks for sharing this with us!

I agree &mdash 05/26/08 - 05:02:30 AM
with the above comments, but your voice sounds fine to me (a darn sight better than mine)

Your melody, &mdash 06/29/08 - 03:52:59 PM
The story behind the lyrics and your voice are all very sweet. I would fiddle around with the lyrics a bit.
Perhaps, start out with what your partner has said, first and end with your hope that something could be salvaged.
How about: Wish I had a choice but I was prevented. (?)
I think this could be a longer and very romantic song of loss and hopeful expectation. Thank you.

Thanks for the comments everybody, I appreciate the feedback. I found it interesting how Char interpreted the song to be a sortof romantic confession, which I didn't really intend it to be. Still, I can easily see how it can be perceived that way. Actually I really thank you for your honesty here, its the important insight I like to hear that helps me develop a song more.

In reality people make decisions in their life, sorry is maybe a polite way of saying, I don't want you anymore for I can't give too much of my self. Please respect my decision. Very nicely written, I like the melody and emotion behind the song.
