well done &mdash 10/15/04 - 06:07:23 PM
political charges aside, this is a very inventive song.
stylistically, you guys jump all over the place-which i think
defines the chaotic world we are in. the string sounds on
the keyboard need some reverb/echo badly-i can tell
when you lift your fingers. nice work guys.. wish i had a
sandwich maker

nice one &mdash 10/18/04 - 01:15:00 PM
cheers _
but i can't control music enough to have a style !
. . . i started this post with the intention of
just playing country songs ! . . ? . .
blacksalad is a full on rocker ! . .
and when we were kids, he'd be practicing
guitar while i was in his garden chewing nutmeg
and lettuce stumps . . .
i'll take on board what you said about the keyboard

cheers

raided my mam's fridge for all the cos she had.

"oh, we had sandwiches, mam, and john likes nutmeg in
his rice pudding"

nice work cj, mam'll always have a tenderheart for your
sweet little jem.

you told me they were there, but . . . &mdash 12/05/04 - 12:33:41 PM
any lettuce related puns are lost in my
ignorance of the academic side of the veg . . .

. . . all i know is i heard tom baker saying
that there's a drug in the stump of a lettuce . . .

munch on 1989 . . . oi oi

Make sandwiches not war! &mdash 12/05/04 - 05:14:06 AM
An interesting collaboration and an interesting song
overall. I prefer the slower, synth-strings bit (not
convinced that reverb is needed) to the punky bit in
the middle but then that's just me. It does, however,
make for an interesting juxtaposition of sounds and
ideas. Nice use of samples too…one round of cheese
and ham for me, thanks!

thanks eppy ! &mdash 12/05/04 - 12:39:05 PM
nice one . . .
but i'm afraid we don't eat our friends 'round here . . .
so you'll have cheese and marmite™ like the rest of us !
and if there's any left, i'll throw in a few shrooms . . . how's that !

That's Mr Eppy, thank you! Not a big fan of Marmite (you either love it or
you hate it, apparently, but actually I'm more somewhere in the middle)
so cheese will be fine with me (how's about mango and brie, or is that
too poncy?). Do I take it that the mushies are of the Paul Daniels variety?
Is this post too 'off topic' for MacJams? Will I ever stop asking questions?
Thanks for the reply and keep the tunes coming!

Wooh ... this rocks! &mdash 12/05/04 - 05:32:58 AM
An enjoyable rocky number with a nice mix of styles.
Amazing you got Tony Blair to take time off from his
busy schedule invading sovereign states to come and
do the voiceover for you.

Keep chomping those vegetable stumps.

cheers rebsie . . .
glad you enjoyed it . . .
big tony is always calling 'round . . .
we don't mind really, cause he brings us back
hallucinagenic plants back from where-ever he goes . . .
( no customs see ) . . . tidy !
but he doesn't stop talking about the outside world !
we tell him we're not interested, but he just keeps on and on.

stylistically speaking... &mdash 10/31/05 - 10:26:09 PM
Got about half way through before I regained my capacity to scroll.
The top line of your first comment/reply was an "A HA" moment for
me, not to be confused with an "A-Ha" moment (in a day or
twoooooooo). I've been struggling with which direction to focus my
musical energy and I realize that I'm really just along for the ride.

Great song because and in spite of the jenre jumping. I recently heard
the rapper 50 cent say you have to get them in the first ten seconds or
there moving on. Any song that starts with "piggies" gets me, but you
kept me. On my third go now.

Keep on smoking,

Bob Roberts
