Description:
The Terrible Beauty is a pretty straight ahead rock track. The song was written around the main intro riff and really developed from that. With the bridge and chorus sections I went with chord progressions that really flowed together and didn’t worry about trying to make them too complex. I was really looking at the overall feel of this song as a whole.
The lyrics were written a few months before the music and both pieces fit together really well. I actually considered using different lyrics at one time but nothing fit as well as these did.
The song is about building some kind of frankenstein type monster. That’s pretty much it, not a whole lot of depth to these lyrics, just a straight ahead rock and roll monster song.
Lyrics:
The Terrible Beauty
Rise my dear you are finally home
Feel the blood rushing through your bones
Use my breath to keep you alive
Don’t look back don’t want to see you die
Behold the monster I’ve created
Fear not the beast lies within
Watch in awe The Terrible Beauty
Behold this monster lives again
Think the thoughts that I’ve set before you
Tremble inside until the sensations through
Never stray from the path I’ve made
Right to your core I’ve built with this hate
Behold the monster I’ve created
Fear not the beast lies within
Watch in awe The Terrible Beauty
Behold this monster lives again
Begin this life with new sight
Behold the monster - Fear not the beast
Behold the monster - The Terrible Beauty

Great riff, I like the sound. The intro caught my attention as it started on the left then burst into full. The Solo fit together really well. Overall a well-balanced composition. A few tips I think may improve the composition... I think it would have been cool to have things build down, revert to the simple left panned guitar, then have it transition into the solo. Its always good to have some variety to keep the listener interested. Apart from that the bass could be played up a bit, not sure there was a bass really. Anyway I really like this track, great stuff. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the feedback! The bass is always the hardest part for me to mix but yes it definitely is in there. The guitar sound is fairly treble driven and without the bass it would definitely sound much thinner.
Thanks again!

Firstly, great title. Secondly, production is nice n meaty. Great riffs, and you have a good solid rock voice. This feels like an album track, but is really catchy - good guitar hooks n vocal melodies... nice work!
