Description:
She says 'It's time to go. I look up - stare. She says 'Forget it, you're not going anywhere." Am I in ? Or am I out? Do I really want to show her what it's all about?
Is this coked-up nut from a bar pushing things way too far?
So begins this strange narrative and internal dialogue while The Gospel Choir Of St Sammy The Balmy join in for the chorus. Developed on GB then fucked about with in logic - that in itself should be enough. I think this is in C sharp... but I can't be arsed to check. Is it? This choon started out as a folk song on guitar then ran off and joined the circus.

Smooth jazzy soul stuff with a good feel to it. Pretty sexy groove. This funky groove sounded pretty pro to me.
Did you play all this stuff by yourself? I'm impressed! This sounds soooo good. That outtro was pretty nifty and fast played... Good melody, composition, performance, production... Your vocals are mixed to perfection, and delivered with confidence. Bottom line%u2026 you sound awesome! [ Reply to This ]

BPJ - everything you do breaks new ground in its own way. I haven't heard a bass line like this from you before - funkadelic! Great vocals and a real ear for what makes a good song.
Love it!

I read your blog Jiggsy &mdash 05/17/08 - 07:11:41 PM
Sometimes as you will no doubt concur life is a beach or is it a bleach? This is white plastic soul as Biba so decrees. Would you be interested in joining the Canal choral group as temporary yet paradoxically eternal vice president? I read your blog Jiggers it's all groovy. [ Reply to This ]

...for folk songs, or so I've heard ;)
Or maybe I just listened to this track...
Fab singing--the chorus work is amazing, and the production so clean.
Yeah...my ears are very happy.

Bon Chance Chanson &mdash 05/17/08 - 10:05:25 PM
Another delightful, breezy tune, Johnny.
I must admit the brief intro had me thinking we were going to get a bit of Barry White. ;)
Lots of nice vocal and musical interplay in here and a cool runabout guitar outro. Some other interesting guitar touches throughout.
There were a couple spots in here where I thought some harmonized *oohs* would have worked better than harmonizing on the actual lyrics being sung, but really just a minor nit. All in all, another good one. ;)

Joey baby! &mdash 05/20/08 - 06:30:49 PM
Digging your new avatar Joe - seriously man you and that wee dug look like Saintly beings (that's not to imply that you are not). I've been thinking about giving it a bit of the auld oohs n' ahs lately but rather than revisit Goodman... because I'm up to my limit on listening to it again until at least 34 years have elapsed , then I'll write a new choon and include some specials oohs just for you-hoo-hoo - and yer wee dug. Be lucky Joe. [ Reply to This ]

Your wrestling with your tunes and search for perfection, always seem to pay off in the long run as this one surely proves.
This one is ready for the big show.

soulful and edgy enough to remind me of Strummer and that false ending is cool. [ Reply to This ]
