Description:
My son-in-law, Scott wrote this lovely song 3 1/2 years ago for his first born, Elizabeth. This is a bit of a demo quality recording... air conditioner in the background and Lucy their dog jangling her dog tags here and there. But it is a beautiful song by a talented young singer/songwriter. The song art photo is of Elizabeth.

As for "demo quality": well, sometimes it works. This sounds like it was performed live in my living room!

nice song. nice guitar playing. a rough recording, but the song itself is nice :) which is what matters the most. i like the dog tags jingling it sounds like bells in the background and sort of adds to the musical sound. perhaps the final recording you should keep the dog tag sounds / [ Reply to This ]

You got that right, Vic. Scott has some real talent, both in songwriting and singing/playing. What he doesn't have much of is time... so I doubt he would join. But I do have another song of his that I will post next week.

Great song, and you play and sing really well. It's a pity that the recording lets it down a bit, because this could be something REALLY special with a good recording.
Like you (and Jack) I'm keen to leave some special musical things for my granddaughter when she grows up. Elizabeth will treasure this as she gets older and as she better understands it's significance.

I can imagine this being trotted out again at birthdays, graduations, a wedding...Songs are great gifts, and decent ones grow with time...
Scott's got a nice voice, a nice sense of melody, and a nice way with a lyric... And a Larivee, fer cryin' out loud... All he needs now is an addiction to MacJams and GB4...
