Description:
Oriental Theme is yet another excursion into serial music, this time using half a dozen or so synths with varying timbres. The synths seem once again to have a rhythmic life of their own.
The Film Scoring genre is wishful thinking as I didn't want to place it under Other or Experimental.
Let me know what you think, from any angle.

What's serialized? &mdash 05/18/08 - 10:51:33 AM
Note lengths? Sounds like a phase with an additional note on each repeat - but I may be way off. Like the effect though! [ Reply to This ]
Hi Daniel... &mdash 05/19/08 - 12:07:09 PM
I'll check again but I think the serialized part of the piece is the fact that I've used a 'serial'-effect sound source. I will let you know the details as I remember them.
Thanks for your interest in my music. I really appreciate it.
Take care.

Hi..... &mdash 05/19/08 - 12:04:38 PM
Thanks for listening and leaving your kind comments.
This sort of piece seems really interesting as it has many sounds and rhythms that come out as you listen to it.
I'm glad you enjoyed what you heard.
Take care.

i like this direction very much. as for the genre, it's like "classic electronic," if you had been releasing this stuff in the 70's you would be a legend. everyone who owns a synth would claim you as an influence.
but seriously, this is great. more rhythm and sound colliding into something very out there and yet accessible. i wish it went on for about 4 times as long (seriously). great track Paul. [ Reply to This ]
Hi Michael....... &mdash 05/21/08 - 01:48:22 PM
Whilst I was putting this all together I ate, drank and slept this theme. One night I kept waking up and hearing the music. It drove me mad!! Well more mad than I am already.
The music I'm producing at the moment falls into a couple of areas and this could change almost by each take I do for each piece I work on. I'm musically like the weather, changeable.
So maybe the next upload will be something different again. Who knows. I certainly don't. I'm just in for the ride and the mystery tour of where I'm going but not too worried about how I get there.
Thanks for your encouragement as always.
Take care.

I think that I've always been mad. It certainly helps with excuses!!
This mix is one of my favourites that I've done this year. It has a half decent arrangement and things do stand out in the mix.
Thanks for listening and leaving your kind comments.
Take care.
