Description:
OK - this is the last of my old song posting for advice (I promise!). This is a strange one, perhaps a bit monotonous with the beat. The lyrics are not linear and represent opposing personalities... dualities if you will.. in dialogue with one another.
Worth re-doing? Involves xylophone, harpsichord, and ebow-tronics at odd moments. Let me know what you think

Lyrics:
I can see you in the pressure of the iceClawing on the backside of a mirror
Do you recognize the bloodstains in my eyes?
The gaze of a melancholy killer
And stiff am I, from my arctic delusions
Cracking at the corners of my wit
And you, a soft warm resolution to be named
Escaped in a futuristic ship
Ah now, you straddle the crested wave
Billowed towards my strangling hand
And lip on lip, the frost will surely pave
An icy knoll on which to land
Come hither to the embalmment of snow
Deliver this man from disenchantment
I can see you in the celestial glow
As the sun sets on our shedded garments
Enough, Enough of this dark cold chasm
Gotta keep it light, gotta razzamatazz ‘em
Don’t have to be the jaded priest
Passing the wine at damnation’s feast
Gotta be just the right size, not to sizes too big
Find a smoothie dance and not a left-foot jig
This chunk of ice ain’t my soul’s assassin
Ain’t got no weakness and I ain’t confessin’
Gotta rev it up to the threshold, sustain
Choke off the demon and his loud refrain
Cut him out like a cancerous cyst
Gotta live like a lover with a cold hard fist
Embrace of the lonely
We yearn to exist
If only in shadows
Of those who are blessed
Embrace of the lonely
We flee to resist
The fruit of redemption
From sorrows repressed
Wrestle with yourself ‘til you’re all unraveled
Wrestle with yourself ‘til you’re all unraveled
Wrestle with yourself ‘til you’re all unraveled
Wrestle with yourself ‘til you’re all unraveled
Never begin the language of lacerating self
Never give in to anguish that drives you from your health
Always see the bright things that shine within the gloom
Always beckon the “might” things when possibilities loom
You’ve taken me for a ride on coat-tails of disbelief
You’re a machine gun of tirades and your sword is never sheathed
You’d damn me at the cradle, berate me at the grave
Drag me through your scandal, pound me wave by wave
Now I’m completely humble but not yet quite undone
Though caught in mid-tumble, not completely overrun
I’m coming to the surface of the Ice
I’m coming to the surface of the Ice
I’m coming to the surface of the Ice
I’m coming to the surface of the Ice

Why wouldga do anything but let it be as strikingly groovy as it is...
I'd be more then just a little impressed if it could be made better - In fact, I'd be afraid if anyone touched it w/ the thought of altering
Totally dign' the vibe.
Excellent tune!
Thanks for the free grab! D

You flatter me with your kind words. Perhaps I could clean it up a touch - without changing the vibe...
Heightened
a beat. Cool!
LunaTrick
that's a very concise and to the point way of putting it. Thanks!

being compared to the great piper at the gates of dawn is a first! I'll enjoy that one for a while!!

the different vox you have in this are pretty damn cool. I would say the at the very beginning when the vocals first come in they could be a little louder. I like the harmonies you used in here. The bass line is awesome - could even bring it out a little more at certain spots. That little guitar riff after "possibilities loom" is just so cool. haha...I like the rap part but not a fan of the "devil" voice effect. Maybe play around with that a little and try different things. I thought it was going to be too long but it wasn't at all - you kept switching things up enough that it stayed interesting the entire time. At 7:00 there was a very faint little synth line - bring the volume up on that it was cool! Overall another wonderfully interesting piece of work Daniel! chill yet kinda freaky at the same time - that steady beat lulls you into a false sense of calm and security then the damn devil is suddenly in your head and you didn't even see him coming!

WOW! sorry for the random stream of concious comment there. I was typing everything as it came into my head while I was listening. lol....maybe I should re-read before I post. Hope it all made sense!
LunaTrick
Chill & Freaky represents a good percentage of my work. I posted the more conservative stuff at first - but now feel encouraged to let out my experimental side. All of your advice is great - and I will incorporated it into my revision. Thanks for hanging with the devil!
Wow!! Danial this sounds fantastic to dance to. love the pic, great lyrics
and singing. Great production as usual. Brilliant.

I think this is delightful just as it is. Your diversity rolled up in a blanket of beats, and a voice that stirs me deeply in all its guises. Lyrical wonderment worthy of the soul poet you are.
You have so much going for you, analogue or not. The bright things are coming.
