Lies...what harm do they do

Description
After watching a smattering of TV reality shows and all the hype and hoopla they offer, I just decided to write something that broke through the bull and got to the heart of the matter

Lyrics
Little White Lies

(Spoken)
When will the hundred summers die
And thought and time be born again,
And newer knowledge drawing nigh
Bring truth that sways the souls of men

Here, all things in their place remain
As were all ordered ages since
Come care and pleasure, hope and pain
And bring the fated fairy prince

(Sung)

Watch the Headline News on CNN
One man dies, another lives,
Don’t make much sense, it never did

Time to tune in to reality TV
Sex, power, glory, fame
Gone in the mornin’ ain’t that a shame

Academy Awards and talkin’ heads
Lots of words about such and such
In the end they just don’t mean very much

Remote control, guess who’s in charge
Flippin’ channels and stayin’ up late
Guess our lives still disintegrate

(Spoken)

I will open my mouth in parables
I will utter things kept secret form the foundation of the world
The Son of Man will send out his angels
And they will gather out of His kingdom
All things that offend and those who practice them
And will cast them into the furnace of fire
There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth
Then the righteous will shine forth as the Son in the Kingdom of their father
He who has ears, let him hear

(Sung)

Shopping channel, it’s the place to be
Oh don’t fret the cost, the price is right
Charge, charge, charge all through the night

Extreme makeover, it’s what you need
You got to nip and tuck snip and cut
What’da I need to get outa’ my rut

American Idol, become a star
I’m a diva…I’m doe…
I’m popular, don’t it show

You too can be wealthy, just order today
Dial 1 800, it’s easy to do
Ninety-nine dollars will chase away your blues

(Spoken)

Your hearts desire
Trust me
It’s easy
Would I lie to you?

(Sung)

Little white lies, what harm can they do
Well it can cover me cause’ I need to protect
I can’t face the truth so I’ll cover my neck

You see the blonde who’s caught my eye
Oh just a simple hello, an innocent touch
A passionate kiss…can’t get enough

One last drink for the road
No it ain’t a problem, no bother at all
Just drownin’ my blues in alcohol

Tired of livin’ this dead end life
I need something more, no more dope
There’s someone out there who can give me hope

(Spoken)

I am the way, the truth and the life
No one comes to Father except through me
And most assuredly I say to you,
He who believes in me
The works that I do, he will do also
And greater works than these he will do
Because I go to my Father
And whatever you ask in my name
That I will do
That the Father may be glorified in the Son
If you ask anything in my name
I will do it
