I thought it might be a good choice for The MJ Coffeehouse challenge. This is the first one I have submitted for a challenge.

Hi Guy, nice lyrics on this one and a great live feel to the performance. Your delivery is always so smooth and mellow. If I was in the coffee shop I'be be telling the other customers to shut the hell up and listen more quietly!

thanks for the kind words. I put it together to sound like the coffee house I play in here in Calgary Ab. "The House", only it is full of college kids and it is MUCH louder, so you are welcome anytime to come by and tell them to "Pipe Down !! " although I'm not sure they would listen. Beautiful song Guy, love your singing and guitar playing... I listen to this one a lot and just thought I'd pass along these words and phrasing that come to me while I'm singing along...might not look like much of a change, but a songwriter once told me that by leaving out some words and phrasing some words together, the song flows better...
there's 4 lines where less words might help...
1) avoice sosoft and gentle (in place of) her voice is so soft and gentle
2) Asoul that's wounded (in place of) A soul that's been wounded
3) Iremember the darkness (in place of) I remember how dark it was
4) mysoul's been mended (in place of) and now my soul's been mended
Also, when there is so much feeling behind the words, which is true in your delivery of this song, the listener gets the message even without the extra words.
However the song ends up in the final cut, it's still my fav!!
