Description:
I came up with this after listening to The Tyler's fabulous playing of Terrega. My first inclination was to put the guitar up and lock the case... but then I just started playing. So this is a sort of homage to The Tyler and the many other fabulous guitarists on here. It is two takes, not perfect, and just done on a whim. Enjoy

Really nice &mdash 06/02/08 - 03:29:07 AM
guitar sound and really well played. Glad you didn't just lock the case (I would have done).

i like the sort of echo sound the multiple guitar tracks give and the note bending. it sort of has a chaotic feel that i like. its almost like multiple stories going on at the same time. i like that main little melody part as well. [ Reply to This ]

Well Mr. LunaTrick &mdash 06/02/08 - 09:23:44 AM
Rather than lock up the guitar case how about you stand up and join the other Guitar Masters on MJ... For this is amazing good and it is a solid entry into the Guitar Masters hall of fame!
Also on another note... Your continuous posting of songs is really wonderful but you are filling up my mailbox (not that I care!) Just kidding! It seems sometimes like everyday there is a message from MJ...
LunaTrick has posted YET ANOTHER MASTERPIECE... Go have a listen!

Will be slowing down. I am the event manager for a massive writing convocation this summer... so I'll be slacking off on the uploads. Karen has already upbraided me to no avail. Glad you enjoy the music.. and thanks for your support! [ Reply to This ]
Nicely done. &mdash 06/02/08 - 10:50:48 AM

Homage &mdash 06/02/08 - 11:20:24 AM
Wow!!! Just some great playing on a great tune. The tone is very impressive for a solid body guitar, let alone a strat. I love my 83 strat but I have never gotten a tone of that nature out of it. Can't play like that anyhow. Fantastic.
Thanks and take care, Russ [ Reply to This ]
Thanks... &mdash 06/02/08 - 12:24:21 PM
I will be listening to your work... and am glad to have your feedback. My sound is trial and error... this time playing through an old Digitech RP10 effects box. I will be doing more with my classical guitar soon... when I get better condensor mics.

I was.... &mdash 06/02/08 - 01:57:44 PM
...blown away by Bill's playing of the Tarrega piece, too. Cool that it inspired this. Very nice work.
I'm looking at the hardware and see that you've got only a '73 Strat listed. R-e-a-l-l-y nice sounds out of that ax... [ Reply to This ]
Thanks &mdash 06/05/08 - 10:38:56 PM
Actually, I think I have a ground problem - which is the slight pickup hum in the recording. This guitar is easy to play - and I'm sure yours sounds fab too! [ Reply to This ]
Nice one Daniel &mdash 06/02/08 - 09:20:03 PM
Would like to keep it if I may. (I like to listen back and pretend it's me playing. Ha!) Seriously, it's time to take a whip to my fingers. Loved this. Terry [ Reply to This ]

You have talent in spades - and I really like your compositions. All the people lining up to work with you can't be wrong! [ Reply to This ]
Super &mdash 06/04/08 - 06:16:47 AM
I can never get a good sound out of my strat using finger picking becuase I find the strings are too close together. You must have very nimble fingers and very precise coordination to get this degree of complexity. Excellent composition and tone!
Cheers

It's tricky... &mdash 06/05/08 - 10:45:25 PM
...and I prefer to play this type of stuff on an acoustic or classical. As soon as I find a suitable condensor for my Martin Classical, I might redo this. Thanks for your kind words! [ Reply to This ]
Interesting Technique &mdash 06/06/08 - 02:01:55 AM
Love the Strat sound and your technique in this interesting piece... but hate the hum of the Strat pickups. I have a '79 Strat and the hum problem has gone WAY beyond the pale. ;)
Nice whim you have here. Sometimes those spontaneous moments produce the best results... like this one. ;)

Such a thoughtful comment... &mdash 06/12/08 - 09:14:48 PM
Yes, I am always fighting my electric guitars, especially the strat with its noisy pickups. Would like to try a PRS - but can't afford to plonk down 2 grand on another guitar! [ Reply to This ]
Very Well Done! &mdash 06/11/08 - 09:26:40 PM
This reminds me of some of the stuff that Adrian Belew and Robert Fripp do in King Crimson.
The playing is excellent as in production and arrangement.
Thanks for posting this one! [ Reply to This ]
Wow... &mdash 06/12/08 - 09:16:41 PM
I particularly like that incarnation of KC - but would never try to kop that style. I love the stuff Fripp does with Eno and Sylvian - and also Belew's solo records as well. Thanks for your kind words! [ Reply to This ]
